esc exasperation

I have spent hours trying to figure out how to calibrate the throttle on hobbyking blue 30 amp escs. When i go through the process according to the hobby king instructions it does not work. Everyone seems to have a different take on it....and then someone says, i'll be sure to get the programming card next time, but the programming card doesn't do throttle calibration....I am really confused here.

What is the method you are using? Are you connecting the ESCs directly to the throttle output channel of the Rx?

Sounds correct. You wait for the beep, then push throttle down. Wait for more beeps then power cycle?

What exactly is happening that makes you say it's not working correctly?

The manual says wait for the 3 beeps and turn throttle down then 4 long beeps. It doesn't do that. I can't describe the beeps but it just goes into a long series of programming beeps no matter what i do.

It sounds like maybe the firmware on there is not working correctly. Does it do the same thing for each esc???

Yes. I flashed them with the hobby king card just to be sure. I have never had much trouble from these esc's. This is a real head scratcher for me.

Flashed firmware, or changed programming? I've only used cards for programming - but maybe they've advanced that. The firmware was always added by attaching a FTDI style thingamajig - to use a technical term :)

That's definitely what you're going to want on there. And doing it yourself, you'll be confident they're all the same firmware.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
