D a m n, what a slap in the face! The only thing they have listed on the 5.26 firmware update list is the addition of 50 free waypoints for anyone with a Wookong. This is of course just days after running the "bundle sale" for the wookong with 50 waypoints where they charged people for it.

it really sucks... I knew that DJI has planned for FREE 50 WP cuz of IPAD GS. Who ppl (PO) purchased 50 WP for $1300.

Well actually, no. I just bought the summer deal which includes the 50 waypoints but the price including the Wookong-M, iOSD, Bluetooth and datalink is so damn cheap without even considering the bundling of the 50 waypoints that it's still a blindingly excellent deal - the inclusion of the 50 waypoints was just the cherry on top of the icing on the cake, and personally I'm kinda glad everyone gets the cherry now because it will mean more people using more waypoints and sharing their experiences. I won't be one of a few people using it. Forget the waypoints, if you add up the value of all the remaining items in the deal you're still stupid not to take it over buying them individually.

OK, so I was already 5.24 and was about to send off for my 50-waypoint code as part of the summer deal when I saw the 5.26 release. I figured that since it appeared that the only difference was the unlocking of the waypoints that I'd give it a go. Yesterday I had a few flights on my F550 including some FPV and had a test take-off and landing using the datalink and GCS and all was fine - not much of a test I know but I was just wanting to see things work before firing headlong into things - small steps. Today I've been out and was doing some FPV and testing the range of a 5.8Ghz patch antenna I recently acquired which went well however I noticed that despite having at least 9 satellites the Wookong kept rapidly flicking between Atti and GPS modes. It got to the point that when I tried to land I just couldn't and every time I touched down my F550 would just spring back up into the air. I must have ended up bouncing about 5 or 6 times before eventually resorted to switching into Atti mode properly and once it was down I had to roll it onto it's side because despite the throttle trim being completely closed, the model being on the deck and the collective stick completely down it just popped back into the air again every time. Any ideas as to what was going on here?

That is the problem here. 5.24 and up have that issue, so the waypoints are useless till it's fixed. It doesn't work with out proper GPS mode.

Didn't they also have a bundle deal that included a free wookong when you bought an Evo? They are really trying to clear that stock out before bringing out the A2. It's all suspect, if you ask me. I'm sure the days of wookong support are numbered now.

Let's hope they bring out just one more FW release that makes it work properly before they abandon it.

Well it's really very simple - this has been purchased and it's brand new and with a warranty. I don't care when DJI think they might drop support for the Wookong because they're going to continue for some time yet, and I'll be making sure of that, make no mistake. If I'm running the latest DJI firmware and this thing doesn't work correctly then it is not "fit for purpose" and it WILL be going back. I will contacting the authorised DJI reseller I bought this from and advising them of the issue and I'll give DJI 2 weeks to solve the problem (which I think is a reasonable amount of time) and if it's not resolved then I'll simply take the next step myself.

Hmm, you must be new around here. Well, good luck! :)
Yup, and all I'll say is that is you won't have a clue about me or what a total pain in the hole I can be when companies do not play ball. Litigation is not something I'm new to and I don't care where DJI are based because it has no relevance in UK law. I bought my product in the UK and I'm protected under UK law in that my contract is with the reseller and not DJI directly. I will have satisfaction one way or the other - if you think I'm retarded enough to kiss off over 800 UK pounds for something that doesn't work as advertised then think again.

I do apologise for ever doubting that you are a total pain in the hole.

I will state that I too will not be screwed over and have had particular success on more than one occasion in getting satisfaction out of DJI having bought their faulty gear. Not via the reseller, who is generally powerless and has as much trouble with DJI as we all do, but directly with DJI in China. Not 100% of the time but certainly for the expensive purchases. It took considerable persistence but they did bend in the end and replaced the items at no further expense to myself - or the dealer.

I am totally with you on the whole UK law etc. etc. but you should know that DJI treats their dealers every bit as badly as they do their customers. The dealers are obliged to buy excessively large amounts of stock and then, when they have amassed this huge stock, DJI introduces Mega deals and special offers. Now all the customers expect to pay the new low price and the dealer is left with large stocks that he bought at the previous price and can only lose money on because DJI do not reimburse the difference. DJI dealers have to replace faulty gear from the their own pocket most of the time because DJI will not send them replacement stock. The dealer also has to pay from his own pocket to ship the faulty gear back to China.

So you can get as hoity-toity as you like but they are chinese, they are ten thousand miles away and they don't give a fig about the rest of the world. Why do you think they are such a despised race?

Good Luck Raymond

Haven't heard that phrase in years (hoity-toity) :)
Wouldnt say they are a "despised race" though, they just make good sh*t that we keep buying, and probably will continue to, until something better comes along.
Who would be a DJI reseller these days!
