DJI S800 Orientation

Hi, I'd like to add some mod's to my S800 to help improve visual orientation when it is nearing both at max altitude or max distance away.

I am thinking about adding some extra LED strips to my S800 as the standard single LEDS are quite hard to see in the bright daylight.. I'm really not sure which LEDS would be best to use.. and where to plug them in for that matter.. has anyone had a go at this? - I'd love get some pointers or see some pics if you have come up with any good solutions :)

Also, I have been using a red/pink gaffa style tape to the rear of the S800 to help with the orientation.. back legs, the back of the battery and underside of the back two props. It helps but the tape isn't great and I have to say that at range it really doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions for types of tape to use that would be better.. maybe reflective.. iridescent?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have used the LED strips from Got Heli RC on my F550. It's very nice and bright.

I have to ask... Do you really have red and pink gaffa tape on your props??? If so can you post a picture of it?

Thanks

Sybasurfa, I've been looking into this myself, but it has had to move way down on my priority list to work on. I'm in the process of doing some repairs, and higher on my list of to-do is a travel case for the full setup. But if you find a solution, please post here. Likewise, if you come up with something, please post as well.
I had looked into tapping off the two outer-most pins on the S800 arms. These are the pins that have the full voltage going to the motors. The plus of this approach is keeping the S800 arms easily removable; the downside is the voltage since most LED strips I've seen are limited to ~13 Volts.

Never exceed 13 volts for LEDs unless there is a strobing duty cycle.
The PMU that comes with the WKM is likely using the CREE or other super LED and strobing for additional brightness or this one....

My 800 is not the DJI but here is what I did. I followed the conventional starboard/port colors and put the PMU LED strobe on the back for additional guidance at longer distances.:nevreness:

Not the best picture, but I've got a strip of blue leds on the front and red on the back. You always know if it's coming or going, very bright even in full sun. They're just HK, like 5 bucks for a roll. And when the gears up, the work just as well.
