Default not so bad - time to go manual?

Having read endless posts on first flight gain configuration, I was a little concerned as to how our AD6 HL would perform. In the end I left the settings default and it seems to be pretty stable in ATTI and ATTI GPS, even in strong gusty winds. If anything it is a little too twitchy. So a couple of questions for the DJI Gurus out there:

1) When rotating the craft on the spot it tends to circle slightly....is this as expected.

2) My biggest fear is going into manual mode at the moment....any collective knowledge would be gratefully appreciated.

3) Any advice on where to start with the twitch?

Hi Ben,

try to bring your basic gains up for pitch and roll and yaw, leave vertical out of the gain for starts. If you have the chance to but the gains on your radio so you can adjust them during flight you will safe some time finding the right setting. You will most certain have to bring them up from 100% depending on your motor prop combo to 200% or more.

Manual mode depending on your experience flying multi or helis i would start with some caution. The bird will not autolevel so any dirft movement you make with the copter you will have to compensate for to get it straight again and level.

Most important at the beginning is to get your gains right for attitude mode. Once you have the basic gains there were you want them. Start with attitude gains. Also put them on a slider on the radio and experiment. In the best case you have both gains controllable from your radio basic and attitude so you can adjust them and get your bird bird to perform best.

Hi Guys!
Boris, I think the idea of being able to tweak the Naza gains from the radio is a smart idea for sure. It's hard to go back and forth from laptop to field.
I have the DX7se. Is this doable with this radio?
If I am able to pull this off and set it up on my radio, do you mind giving me a few tips on how to set it up? I'm sorry for the question if it's super easy to set up...
Thanks very much for your help.
