Hey guys... well I actually had a flight today; something that I'm proud of. I actually felt like I was in control... Until...

GPS Mode, Home Lock, 25 feet in the air.
3800 mAh, 50C, 3S1
Compass calibrated just prior to flying

While in a hover.. I turned my Hexa (oscillated it) and when I did the motors revved up huge so it launched high into the air. While it did this my battery alarm began to sound (3.7v). After about 20-40 feet ascent (65 feet + total now) it would settle down then begin to descend. Once it hit the 25 feet level again without any other input from me it would ascend again and continually bounce up and down. I would lower the throttle less and less trying to get it not to ascend so high and eventually it would "plop" down - no damage.

-10 outside, no wind, sun setting, I have the black tape on both sides of my Naza.

Any ideas?

Minus 10C OAT? How long was your hexa outside before flying?

Were you in Home Lock the whole time and how far away from the takeoff point was this happening?

Flight #2

Flew again today:

-8 Celsius
Little wind blowing towards the North (Blowing the Hexa to the left)
GPS Mode
same battery
No trims active

Problems:
1. I noticed a drift to the left so I plan to calibrate in the IMU to remedy this.
2. I also noticed (with no input from me (left or right, or any oscillation)) that the Hexa would do what I described above. So I took out my iPhone and captured the following video:

There is no input from me here. The hexa just had ascended up without prompt and was descending down on its own when I began taking the video. Later, in order to bring it back towards me I would lower the throttle and maneuver it towards me when it was 10-15 feet in the air. Eventually with time... I can settle it down and bring it back.

thats just how DJI flies. Dont you get it, China is going to sell millions of nazas to other countries. we will buy them and destroy ourselves just like Skynet did in the Terminator. Kidding. I'm guessing it's got soemthing to do with the crazy cold temp. but you could try flying in AL or manual mode just to be sure. Are your gains all normal, around 100 ish? One time I had a similar problem and I forgot to add the zeros after the 1.

All Gains are at 100%

-10 ain't bad... -35 is bad

I've seen Youtube videos of guys flying in colder with no problems. And yes, the Hexa was outside for about 10 minutes before I began to use it.
