Best F450 board orientation?

Hi all

With installing a Wookong-M in mind, I am wondering which is the best way to orientate the Flamewheel F450 boards?

North-South or East-West configuration?

A picture is worth 1,000 words:

I intend to hang a mirrorless class camera beneath it, so the East-West favours that orientation. (the width of the camera bracket, and bolting that to the channels)

But North-South makes it easier for laying out the WKM & RX.

I have the internal clearance to sit the X8R RX on it's side as well.

Can anyone give pros and cons for either method please?

I laid mine out east/west to use the platforms as sort of outriggers to put things on plus I figured that way I wouldn't have anything overhanging the camera I use mounted underneath. Sometime later when I wanted to mount a GoPro I regretted not having it north/south but then I bought a Y6 as the primary video ship and I'm back to being happy the way it is.

Appreciate the input.

You got me thinking!

Being a camera barge, I should take into account the widest angle of view (100° in this case), and avoiding legs.
Then there are no tears or regrets later!

N-S.
No convenient mounting holes directly under where the camera mount would be:

E-W:
Elongated mounting holes almost directly under where the camera mount would be:

N-S:
Camera needs to come forward to utilise elongated board mounting holes.
CG offset the most.

Hmmm....

Obviously not a lot of interest here.

But, this video shows what I ended up doing:
