Batteries and tray for the S-800

Just saw that HK has some 8000mAh Turnigy nano-tech batteries in stock. What do you guys think about running 2 in parallel? Too much weight? They're 1400g each. Ultimately I want to mount a Photo Higher Hero gimbal when it's available and a Nikon D800. That in itself with lens comes in at just under 2000g. Nikon should make lighter cameras! Something else I noticed on the new DJI FAQ section of the S-800, it states a battery tray is included. All I've got are a couple of very large velcro straps. Anyone actually seen a battery tray?

Still looking for battery recommendations. I've been thinking of a number of option, most are Zippy or Nanotech.

One 8AH
Two 5AH
Two 6AH
Or two 8AH Nanotech's.

I've got a bunch of 6cell 5AH packs for my TRex, but they're getting old and low on capacity. Ideas anyone?

Hi,
I've tried the Zippys and Nanotech amongst others. Both are good. Recently I was pointed to the Giant Power batteries by my local RC Shop guy.
I have to say they are definitely the best I have come across. I bought two 5000 MAh 35c to play with and after abusing them quite a lot they are still like new when I check them on my cellpro powerlab
On the scales they weigh within 4 grams of each other.
I buy from radiocontrolledshop.ie
I can't give a direct link at the moment as their server seems to be down but here's the same make I found after a google search,
http://www.myhotgears.com/rconline/index.php?route=product/product&manufacturer_id=23&product_id=101
I don't know anything about this vendor.
Hope this helps,
Eoin

I forgot to say that I have been mounting 2 of the 5000mah on my S800 with a weight slightly under 1500 grams

Maxamps 6s 11000 mAh.

Are these really 1200grams? That's pretty amazing considering the Nano's are 1400 for 8ah. $399 seems a bit steep considering I'd want 4 or 5... Can you check the weight if you have time? Thanks!

The Maxamps 1100 6S is 158mm x 59mm x 62mm and weighs a total of 1220g with connectors. They are the best power to weight ratio I have found.

Would be a very strange one if they didn't consider that a 8000 10000 Mah 6s should fit. Remembering that they once advertised 15000 mAh for the s800

Anyone else care to chime in on what they are running on their S800? I think it might be time to pull mine out of the case and I need some power!

What would the max weight for batteries be if the Zenmuse is 1.6KG with camera? I can't figure out the specs on the DJI site... is the Frame total weight including the Motors and ESC and Props?

You're gong to need two of them. At that price you'd be better with maybe a Nanotech 6s 8ah battery instead. A little less capacity, but known properties. That is unless these are the cells Maxamps is using lol!

Can I use this type of battery for the S800?

And if so, what size would fit best?

Thanks for info srbell

I have already bought one, but the seller ask me for the size. Maybe I then should just buy the two here and try them out?

But could you tell me what size you think will be the best/fit for the battery tray? (I ordered the DJI 800 custom battery panel http://www.omgfly.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_21&products_id=484)
But I cant see sizes/measurements and have never done this before :)

Question #2
I have also ordered the Walkera DEVO 10 Radio w/RX1002 10 Channel 2.4Ghz Transmitter
But I see the RX1002 runs on Power supply: 4.8V-6V 1300mAH (Does this need another dedicated battery or do I set up a power eliminator in before the RX1002?

I see I will be needing a lot of forum help to get this baby up and running :)

Appreciate all the help I can get ! Thanks!

You should be able to use just about any size with that battery tray. Looks like more than enough options for your velcro. As for powering your RX, you'll get that from your WooKong M flight controller at the correct voltage. No worries there.
