Balancing props

I have read a lot of references to the need to balance props, but have no idea what this means, how it is done, and why it is necessary. Can anyone enlighten me?!

Funny enough, I saw that video just after posting my question. However, I wonder if it is really necessary with a quadcopter? Is there much gain?

Absolutely, if you intend to do Aerial video , especially if you use a CMOS camera.

You deffinately need to balance all propellers!

When someone can figure out how match the span wise CG of each blade of an airplane prop THEN you will have a balanced prop. This method only gets you in the ball park but you still get plenty of prop vibration.
