Set up, X/A Hexa, WKM running 5.10, mt2216-900kv, mt30a esc's, mc6500pro gimbal ( which I hate ), GP H2.

Lots of wind in most of these vids. Really would like to upgrade to the .12a but still scared of it, even though it seems there is very little issue with hexa. After my experience with 5.08 I just don't like the idea of upgrading for the hell of it.

I do have a question, though.
With POI, after locking in a home position of the POI, what happens to your home lock if you flip on failsafe? Will it still bring you home?

Nice vids! I couldn't answer your question though. I'm still figuring out the POI feature. I just need some space to try it in. I'm still running 5.10 too. I certainly agree with you on upgrading for the hell of it. My Hexa Xaircraft hexa crashed after I decided to upgrade to full carbon fiber props. With less than 5 minutes total flight time one prop snapped sending my craft down. It cost me an arm and a leg. Luckily I was able to salvage four motors, my WKM, and receiver to build an F450 quad. I lost a camera gimbal, frame, battery, FPV equipment, two motors, and two escs.

All this to say... yeah...upgrading for the hell of can cost.

I see your flying is very safe. Good vids. I was lucky that my craft crashed (went straight down), just barely missing a house. Whew! If it works...don't fix it.

Thanks, Dewster.

I gave up on my Graupners and went back to my old cheap Gaui 8" props. Found they fly much better on my X/A Hexa than the Graup's.
In all fairness to Graupner, it was my fault. Going to a thin prop I should have stepped up to 9" instead of staying with 8".

As far as my POI question, another fellow member informed me that POI stores seperat and does not affect home at all so you can indeed failsafe at any time.

For me, safety is paramount. Especially after my Hexa tried to kill me. Now a some what not so proud member of the 'scars club'. Don't see how anybody can fly over people, period.

Working now on getting my gimbal to work better.

I see so many videos of flying over people etc. One crash is all it takes. Props are probably the number one reason for mechanical failure on multi rotors. I will search Youtube and collect videos of prop failures and post them. So yes... having good reliable props is a must. My Hexa flew incredibly well using the WKM (I think under 5.06 firmware). No observable issues. I almost had a bird strike one day and was able to dodge it. Just losing one prop on a flat hex sent my craft down hard. I had failsafe enabled that would shut the motors off if it rotated over so many (?) degrees.

I was nervous when I heard a crunching sound because I was headed for trees when it went down and wasn't sure if I caused property damage. I spent an hour trekking the thick woods looking for my craft and finally found it a few feet from a house in extremely tall grass/brush (just in a clearing....). The punctured battery was hotter than an oven. Surprisingly it still supplied power to the WKM.

My next craft will be a Y6. I want enough redundancy and power to weight to keep it in the air in case of prop/esc/unforeseen failure affecting one motor. I was more concerned about the damage that my craft could have caused than the cost out of my pocket.

What caused your Hexa to go crazy?
