    navigation lights

I did the same but with DeLights from Dimension Engineering. 2 per side (8 total) and programmed to strobe alternately such that the load is constant.

Quadframe Foldable Pro SIXcopter - medium lift need

I thought the same, and only used signal on my last quad with NAZA, but did read Pixhawk needs the ground. Then I came across this: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=946741 My manual shows all three connected in a diagram but without further explanation. I don't suppose...

Do those ESCs require power from the controller - all three wires connected?

    Drones Illegal in Austin, TX

Great photos thanks! So good in fact I'm sure the city-level rulers must struggle somewhat with supporting the agenda against drones when the drones do so well to promote the city. Have you ever had a failure of one motor/prop/ESC in a hex/octo where the additional drive redundancy prevented a...

    Drones Illegal in Austin, TX

I haven't seen much Austin video except for the debacle at the courthouse a year(?) ago where a well-intentioned modeler unintentionally allowed the media to represent the hobby in a bad light. But there is plenty out there to feed on, and we will all feel like criminals shortly if we don't...

    Drones Illegal in Austin, TX

:) If you're lucky you may be able to break that rule at 3AM. I'm 30 minutes away on the other side of Austin in Liberty Hill, and anything south of 45/620 is downtown as far as I'm concerned. I try not to venture in if I can avoid it.

There is a point where it becomes easier to define what is legal than what is not.

Quadframe Foldable Pro SIXcopter - medium lift need

Nice build. I'm working on something very similar but a more budget quadrotor. Same motors, 6S. Wish I had found those ESCs before I ordered the Platinum 30s but they should be fine too. Did you add extra caps to the ESCs on the arms? Is there any concern with the packs atop the Pixhawk? I'll...

    Quadcopters strange behavior

The NAZA barometer is sensitive to light when the sun is low in the sky. Cover the left side with dark tape?

Great footage but is this legal??

People are way too concerned about the latest and greatest BS rule that infringes on your ability to live life. I say there are too damn many to even waste one more moment of thought on. Live and fly with personal responsibility for your actions.

    KK Flight Controller KK2.0 power

In the same place you would if you were using non-opto ESC BECs is fine, or any other +/- connections on the board. I'm not familiar with the board, but on most the positive and negative connections are all common. Check this with a meter to confirm.

Pilot reports mystery black ‘drone’ at JFK

I occasionally find opposing opinions equally amusing as every word and image of Newspeak is absorbed, disseminated, and debated as absolute truth. A mind functions best when it remains open to all possibilities, and I prefer to present ideas as distant as possible from the established baselines...

Pilot reports mystery black ‘drone’ at JFK

I'm sure the pilots were compensated well to report the false incident after a little meeting with videos explaining the risks to them, and how the resultant media event would help to create the support needed to pass legislation that would make everyone (and especially the pilots themselves) so...
