To Coax or not to Coax

I just answered my own question. I feel kind of silly for asking in the first place. Just did a thrust bench test using a single 13x6.5" prop/motor combo controlled by the MK motor test tool. I raised the throttle up to 150 which gave me a thrust amount of 1740~ grams as seen on my g/kg scale...

To Coax or not to Coax

I actually have a similar question that I think may have stumped us all.. I'm curious to know if I'm actually gaining any more thrust power moving from a flat hexa to a X8 coax? I know you loose some (approx15%) thrust going coax. My thinking is a flat hexa running 13x6.5" props will have...

To Coax or not to Coax

Great info guys. I'm also curious to know if I'm actually gaining any more thrust power moving from a flat hexa to a X8 coax? I know you loose some (approx15%) thrust going coax. My thinking is a flat hexa running 13x6.5" props will have similar thrust to an X8 running the same props (rpm...

To Coax or not to Coax

Bart what are your thoughts about using a 14x4.7" prop on top and a 13x6.5" prop on the bottom? The bottom have a larger pitch than top. I chose this combo because it's all I have in stock :)

    Mikrokopter X8 Big Payload (5D3/C100/C300)

Hi guys, reformatting my octo to X8 coax and curious to know what size I should build this thing. What is the typical motor to motor length used for a heavy lift X8 coax configuration? I'm using 13x6.5 props with Axi 2820/14 motors. Right now I'm at 890mm but this looks to be too much distance...

    Insurance Companies? - PD/PL & Equipment

I can almost bet it all that once RC guys start submitting damaged equipment due to it being strapped to an RC toy, SquareTrade will change their repair policy to exclude us. I can bet on that! If you're smart and I bet MOST of us are, DO NOT mention your $4,000 camera and lens was damaged...

    Herkules IV arrived at Kopterworx.

Lanzar, I'm considering either the MT3515, 4120/20 or KW10. Can you confirm that the Tiger MT3515 only have 2 bearings and the KW10 actually have 3 bearings? Thanks for the info. This conformation will help a great deal.

    Herkules IV arrived at Kopterworx.

I recently contacted Jan V. at Model Motors (Axi Motors) and asked if it would be possible to produce a lightweight version of the 4120/20 similar to the KW10, his reply.. "If you compare 4120/20 and KW10 simply there is not the same power motor neverthless that on advertisement is written it...
