    S-800 oscillations/vibrations

Andrew, Thanks for your information. Yes, you are correct, we were shaking the whole machine - I thought it was little 'loose' although of course there some of that will be the vibration dampers. On weight…bear with me if you can - you build the things, I only take the pictures! I don't...

    S-800 oscillations/vibrations

That's what I thought in the first place but this occurs wether the gimbal is switched on or off. In fact in the ground video it is off. Sorry, IHMO? As for the load I'll admit it's borderline but it is just about within the take-off weight specified by DJI. Certainly there is no issue with...

    S-800 oscillations/vibrations

Benjamin, The blades were all balanced just before we did the flight in the garden and as far as I can see the motors are OK. If you grab the propellor boss and pull up and away from the winding there is a little movement in a couple of them. Not much, probably 0.5 mm or so and only in the...

    S-800 oscillations/vibrations

A couple of months ago I experienced a very close call with my S-800. It suddenly began to swing violently from side to side and I thought it was going to flip. It was going through almost 90 degrees and I consider myself lucky that it did not. FYI it uses and A2 controller was in GPS mode and...

    Gimbal 'judder'

FYI I disconnected the gimbal controller and flew it yesterday - exactly the same issue. As soon as you feed in power left/right or backwards/forwards there is a momentary judder. So, looks like something is 'loose' Only thing I can think is the pan axis (as you quite rightly pointed out) but...

    Gimbal 'judder'

You're right, the Alexmos only controls the roll and tilt axis, it's not connected to the pan. There is a little play in the pan axis but I can't see why it would move from side to side by itself.

    Gimbal 'judder'

OK, Thanks for that I will try and see. Like you say, trial and error!

    Gimbal 'judder'

Yes, a 1000 mAh 3S connected straight onto the board.

    Gimbal 'judder'

    PID settings were preset by the gimbal manufacturer and are as follows: P I D ROLL: 8 0.05 32 PITCH: 7 0.05 28 Thanks…….

    Gimbal 'judder'

Yes, In fact I'm now decreasing them as if they're too high then the gimbal starts to vibrate on it's own. It may be something to do with the dampers - I'm using those supplied with the gimbal plus the dampening kit (blue balls) that DJI brought out for the S-800. The more dampers the more...

    Gimbal 'judder'

Good morning All, And greetings from sunny Barbados. I fly a DJI-S800 with an Alware Lensman 3-axis gimbal. Roll and tilt are brushless, the pan is a regular servo. Gimbal controller is an Alexmos, software is BCG 2.2, camera is a Nikon D5300. Although the gimbal performs fine on the ground as...

    S800 oscillating flip

Jack (?), Thanks for your reply. Well it's only done it the once so here's hoping it will never do it again. So you got another S800? Just curious - what do you do with it? I'm a pro photographer based in Barbados and use mine primarily for stills photography. Not quite the same as shooting a...

    S800 oscillating flip

Did you ever figure out what might have caused the oscillations? Although your video link seems to have gone it sounds very similar to what happened to me last week. S-800 with A2 controller, suddenly began to swing violently from side to side. It was pretty high when it started and may have...
