Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

I may as well order some ESCs then, and not even mess with these. :-( Thanks

Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

That may be why it is said Naze32 is not for DJI frames. IIRC, the lower half of the throttle would work okay, then little or no difference in motor speed between half and full throttle and there was a LONG delay for the motor speed to decline when the throttle was cut. I was/am using DJI E300...

Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

I built my F550 with a PixHawk clone - the RTFHawk and have been very happy with it. It did not work well with DJI ESCs, however. Now I am building a 250 racing quad with a Naze32 board and plan on using my DJI ESCs with it. I seem to remember that the endpoints on the DJIs are fixed and...

Phantom 2 Naza M How to fly a circle pointing at center

You can kind of do it, but your home position must be at the center of the circle. Have your distance limit set to the radius of the circle. Back away from the center of the circle while facing the center. When you hit the limit, pull your stick back and to the left or the right. The quad will...

MultiWii / NAZE / SP Racing F3 Which board? I am so confused!

I plan to build a hex with a Rotor Bones kit - or possibly start with a quad and upgrade it to a hex later. I want to use a Multiwii flight controller. Being on a fixed income, I need to keep the cost down I can start with a simple controller at first and add GPS with RTH and maybe bluetooth...

Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

I want to build a 550. I can't come up with the entire amount for a kit at once, so I am going to buy parts as I can over a period of months. The first decision I will face is the choice of motors and ESCs. I plan on using a gimbal with a GoPro, so I assume I will need something a little bigger...

Naza Lite - faulty or just not very good?

Did you set the measurements for the position of the GPS/Compass module from the center of gravity? The NAZA manual tells you how to do it and also shows what adjustments to make for the toilet bowl effect. Also, the NAZA must be mounted very securely, not upside down, and the motor ports must...

    IOC inaccuracies

The direcition for course lock is set during the startup procedure. It is only changed when you flip S2 between off and course lock several times. If is is set at say, south and you are going west and turn on course lock, course lock will NOT be west - it will still be south. I didn't...

Naza Lite - could intelligent cut-off mode kill the motors in air when descending?

After thinking this over, I believe that I have NOT held zero throttle except once. One time my FC40 auto landed and I know the low battery alarm had not triggered. It landed in tall weeds and it took me 2 hours to find it. I should have Flytrex data and video from it, if I can find it. As for...

Phantom 2 Naza M How to fly a circle pointing at center

I have found two ways to do it, sort of. Both require that the object be at or near the home point. The first is to use Home Lock. Have the quad face the object and move left or right. This requires you to use the yaw control to keep the object centered. The second is to set the distance limit...

Naza Lite - could intelligent cut-off mode kill the motors in air when descending?

If it is airborne, holding the throttle will NOT shut off motors if intelligent motor cutoff is used. I have held the throttle at zero for extended periods when bringing my FC40 (which uses a different version of NAZA, but they work the same way) from high altitudes.

    Channels. How many is enough?

Thanks for the replies. I guess I changed the subject a bit. The original poster asked about how many, including extras. I was talking about minimum, basic setup. Sorry about that. I have a chance to get a Spektrum 6 channel transmitter. I guess that wouldn't be enough for basic flight and...

    Channels. How many is enough?

Why so many? I count four for the two sticks, one for IOC, one for GPS/ATT/Manual and one for camera tilt. That is seven. Am I missing something for the minimum needed?

    Maximuum altitude limit

Is it altitude above sea level or altitude above the ground where it takes off from? I had mine set for 100 yards, but it did not seem like it could have been anywhere near that today when I maxed out my altitude. My altitude is about 220 feet above sea level. Thanks.

    Phantom drifting all over...help!!

Did you enable IOC in the Assistant program? When you calibrated the compass, were any large metal objects nearby, anything that might interfere with the compass? You are flying in GPS mode, right? Did you wait until you got nothing but green lights before you launched it? Did you let it hover...
