DJI S800 - Zenmuse -Sony NEX 5n - No Video

I was having exactly this issue. It was compounded when I made up a lead to plug a composite video monitor straight into my Z15 3.5mm jack and got a good video signal, which only left the IOS unit to be the culprit. After swapping the IOSD out, it turns out the fault actually lay with HDMI...

Flying to Defined Low Heights Manually

I think you misunderstood me there. If you put say, six different bearings in, each +30 degrees for the same waypoint with Wookong or Naza, you will not get 6 smooth, clockwise rotations with a common centre point. Try it yourself. I have done a lot of testing of this with F550s and S800-evos...

Flying to Defined Low Heights Manually

I tried using waypoints originally and it simply doesn't work. The aircraft moves off station as it turns, as well as crazy, seemingly random changes of rotation direction. so to get from 60 to 90 degrees it doesn't necessarily move +30, it may well move -330. Hence building something.

Flying to Defined Low Heights Manually

Well I built one of these to solve the same problem- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLOLlXz3Sss&feature=share&list=UUWxjDcSEBTgLc_xCn4PZiRQ&index=7 Since perfecting the electronics, I machined an aluminium load bearing and carbon fibre side frames, as it was for stills I didn't use a gimbal.

    Resource-UAS Training

I got 'my ticket' with them too, Great bunch of guys and I have to say, having sat through a lifetime of various training, This is probably the only course that fully held my attention from beginning to end.

    Poi

I'm struggling with POI myself, maybe you guys can provide some clarity. The wookong manual states that POI can be set in flight by flicking from OFF to POI and back once. The LED should flash CYAN (not green) in my experience this simply doesn't work. It implies the POI centre will be 5m ahead...

    DJI Ground Station question(s)

Don't understand your iPad range point here? are you saying the 900MHz version has more range the the 2.4GHz version? if so, OK, I can't comment as the 2.4GHz version is the only one allowable in the UK. Or are you talking about the bluetooth iPad connection? which does indeed have limited...

    DJI Ground Station question(s)

not in any usable way. you choose between banking on turns, or stop and turn. In stop and turn you can specify an angle, which is relative to North and points the aircraft in that direction, albeit abruptly. With a Z15, turn the gimbal, and note the angle on the OSD to make it repeatable, is...

    IMU Mount Options on S800

Hi guys, I went a different way with this. with a full system you need a can bus hub anyway, so I fabricated a bracket to mount this on the landing gear rails, that you can see in this picture: You need to get the RC connector for the retracts, and in my case cross feeds from the primary...

    WKM>Z15>iOSD>AVL58 frustrating and intermittent error

+1 again, there is a design flaw with AVL58 IMHO, the aerial connector is just clamped by the case and soldered, it isn't mechanically held in place with a nut, so as you flex the aerial, the solder joint fails and lifts the track on the PCB like this The upshot being that it works on the...

Dji 2.4G Data Link Lk24-BT Help with window 8.1 Driver

Hi Zaidy, stupid question I know, but you are plugging this in via USB aren't you? I foolishly expected to be able to connect a PC via Bluetooth to the datalink module, just like you can with an iPad. indecently dji, why can't you do this? I suspect it's the same reason you can't set POI with...

Am I doing the right thing?

Hi there, I'm pretty much where you are and have attended the RPQ-S course myself. Don't worry about manual, I had the same conversation myself. When Resource UAS say manual, they actually mean ATTI/GPS mode in our world. Manual to them means 'Not Waypoint' So in my Ops manual I have waypoint...
