NAB 2015 Recap, the good, the bad, and the sad.

This year I had the great pleasure of attending NAB out in Vegas. It was great to get out there and get my hands on some of the newest cameras, remote heads, and multirotor tech. I also wanted to go to meet some other multirotor experts to see what others were doing and their solutions were to...

Who shot this Aerial Real estate in NYC?

Wondering who shot this and if they got arrested or in trouble yet? Or if they had permission, although I wouldn't believe the FAA would ok this. http://www.ajsny.com/

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

Even fast forward accelerating will cause roll drift. If you so really slow movements won't be as bad. Everything looks good its best in the demo videos. I don't think these other options hold a candle to the movi and the support you get from freefly

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

Think about a cup of water that you slide quickly across a table. The inertia causes it to loss a steady horizon. Gps helps anticipate that movement and counter it before it's a problem. That's my understanding, but even with gps it's still an issue sometimes. It's more of an issue on...

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

Ya the zenmuse series does talk to the gps, the ronin series does not. There have been rumors that gps data could be feed through the light bridge port but this seems highly unlikely to me. Although got to say my gh2 zenmuse rolls more now then it used to. And after reading about peoples...

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

ya roll drift is a popular issue, if you don't have a gps talking to it. I've heard the ronin roll issues described by a few people as "horrible"

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

Oh well mainly the roll drift. Without a gps input gimbals are susceptible to inertial drift.

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

To soon to say, probably has the same issues as the other ronin for aerial. They said the classic, "will fix with future firmware". I wouldn't buy this for aerial until I've seen it proven to work in the air.

    Who is going to NAB?

It would be cool to get to meet some MR forum people at this years NAB. If anyone is going lets try and plan a time and place to meet up. And if anyone wants a closer look at anything, post here and I'll check back throughout the week.

The supposed new FAA sUAS reg... WHEN???

This is all speculation here, but witnessing the way the FAA works it's hard to imagen it will be done by this time next year. Plus even though people want it done quick, they are also super safety oriented and wouldnt want to be liable for some sort of preventable accident

DJI put me in business, and is taking me out...

This happens in all industries in some way or another. Its so hard for me not to get salty about it, but the truth of the matter is getting bitter or blaming anyone or anything else is not productive. Focusing on you and how you can be better is the only way to survive. Establishing the...

    Help Please with crash log.

I am not able to look at the flight log right now, but what I can say is that I've seen DJI flight controllers have occasional freak outs when switching to manual mode quickly. It happened once when flying a nana quad, when ever I'd switch to manual it would shudder and freak out until I went...

Airborne X8, any one used these?

@Carapau could you elaborate on that? My only experience is holding them next to a u7 not actually using it. Seemed like the u7 had smoother feel and cleaner build. @jwoike I've seen these, and talked to Ziv on facebook. I like his work and I know he uses his in tough conditions but I think...

Airborne X8, any one used these?

Oh ya I'd for sure use 4014s or more likely U7's. I've had nothing but great experience with t motors. I don't have much experience with KDE's but they seem good on paper.
