    S1000 flyaway and crash

From DJI (all under warranty): We have replaced the top/bottom frame, GPS bracket, A2 flight controller, A2 IMU and propellers. The A2 firmware has been updated to the latest version using the A2 assistant software 1.4. The LightBridge ground station board has been replaced with the new V2...

    S1000 flyaway and crash

No fence set in software. The previous home point theory is interesting but the A2 searched and locked on satellites and the flyaway direction was the opposite from previous takeoff spot.

    S1000 flyaway and crash

To be fair, the exact cause of my crash hasn't been determined. I'm pretty sure it was not pilot error but the flight analysis should be happening soon. I hope to post DJI's official 'cause' of the crash along with the mark ii flight log for cross-reference as soon as I hear from them.

The GH4 battery last longer than any camera battery I've ever seen. You'd need a truckload of lipos to outlast a full charge.

    S1000 flyaway and crash

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm still curious about the fact that my A2 was shipped running different versions of Main Controller and IMU firmware, which DJI advises against in it's latest A2 release (or risk a crash). I haven't found that stipulation in any of their previous releases. Does anybody...

    S1000 flyaway and crash

In the latest (2.4) A2 firmware release, the first release note says to make sure the main controller and IMU are running the same version. As mentioned earlier, mine shipped with different versions- 2.3 for main controller and 2.2 IMU. Perhaps this could have contributed?

    S1000 flyaway and crash

My story isn't falling apart. That would imply it is somehow constructed. The 15 flights were referring to the day it happened, as in- this occurred on the 16th flight of the day in the exact same location. The 100 flights referred to my overall experience with this particular rig. I also regret...

    S1000 flyaway and crash

Thanks for the responses. Trust me, for 24 hrs after the crash I was sure it was op error somehow. And I guess perhaps not switching to manual mode fast enough could be considered an op error that warrants a crash. But satt/gps signal was strong and I had no control other than lift. The rig is...

    S1000 flyaway and crash

A2 main controller vers 2.3 IMU 2.2 GPS 2.2 This is what it shipped with in August. Was waiting to get home from this job to upgrade to 2.4. That'll teach me. Unfortunately, camera wasn't rolling as I wasn't in position yet and hadn't triggered the shutter. Did not switch modes. Sending the IOSD...

    S1000 flyaway and crash

Rig had been working beautifully on a 2 day shoot. Had probably 15 flights without issue. On my last battery/flight, I ascended to 15-20 ft and the coper immediately began strafing right. Slowly at first but quickly accelerated. Tried to correct by rolling left but that seemed to increase the...

DJI has released its 2.4G Full HD digital video downlink, the DJI Lightbridge

Sorry, want to make sure I'm following. To be clear, the 5.8G radio requirement only pertains to untethered 2-man op, right? If tethered there's obviously no frequency interference issue and no reduction of channels available. Am I right?
