    Battery Chargers

Best charger out there at the moment in my opinion is the iCharger 4010 duo. It can charge 4x 6s 9Ah batteries at 2C in one go so is perfect for keeping you in the sky all day long. You will need a good power supply of which the HP ESP 120 server power supply is perfect.

What would you buy for £10k-£15k

Swisser, I stand corrected- I got a very clear impression that this wasnt allowed on my BNUC course but obviously it is. Im not going to start a this v that debate but another good radio for a one man operation is the Spektrum DX18. Both this and the Futaba are excellent. My advice would be to...

What would you buy for £10k-£15k

There is nothing in any CAA documentation saying you cant operate as a single person. Absolutley correct- but you wont get your manual approved if trying to do it all on your own. You can operate as a single person providing that you get someone on location to operate the camera for you...

What would you buy for £10k-£15k

Doesnt matter what equipment you use. The reason behind it is that as a pilot you need to be focused on piloting the craft, not taking your concentration off and focusing it elsewhere. There is also the need to keep an eye out for other aircraft and other dangers. If you are trying to operate...

What would you buy for £10k-£15k

Hi Midnight999, I see you are hoping to do everything as a one man band. Just be aware that if you wish to get your BNUC-S, you will need to operate as a two man band- they don't like the pilot also operating the camera. Just some food for thought. Please don't take me for being a pain in the...

    Forced to upgrade firmware WTH!

Okay, I thought I had upgraded to 5.2 using the new assistant so that makes sense. Having reloaded the old assistant, I can continue to work on 5.20. Thanks very much.

    Forced to upgrade firmware WTH!

I just plugged in my WKM which has firmware 5.20 on it. The software now wont let me make any changes unless I upgrade to 5.22. This is bad news as we should be allowed to choose when we update our firmware. The reason I do not want to upgrade to 5.22 is that the return to home function isnt...

    wkm will not RTH!

Im having a similar problem. In the wookong assistant you can clearly see the RTH switch working and going from standby to rth however whilst flying absolutely nothing happens. It doesnt even change height. I have double checked all settings and even flown out a long way (50m), turned on the...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjiv V2 problem fitting Cinestar 3 axis gimbal

That's certainly a good solution however I am building this for someone and so was just wanting to make sure that I am not missing something here. Having been in touch with Allied Drones who supplied the adaptor plate (awesome service from them by the way) they too think that the legs are very...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjiv V2 problem fitting Cinestar 3 axis gimbal

Okay, I am probably doing something really bone here. I am trying to fit a Cinestar 3 axis gimbal under a Skyjib v2 with the retractable landing gear. The problem is that the gear seems far to narrow when down and the gimbal just simply doesn't fit between the legs. Any ideas anyone?

    Propellar pitch

I'm just curious as to what people use to calculate what prop is the best match for their particular motor. There is quite a bit out there for aircraft but is there anything specific to multirotors as the requirements are a touch different as I understand it.

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib V2 Battery Options

It will not give you twice the capacity although in theory you are correct. What you need to do when adding the 2nd pack in parallel is go through the timing process again. As a rull of thumb, if you double the capacity you will get about 150% of the flight time.

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib V2 Battery Options

First up, changing from 5s to 6s is as simple as plugging in the 6s battery. In BECS you generally do not need to change the input voltage, just the output voltage you require thus a change from 5s to 6s is as simple as plugging in the 6s battery. Just check beforehand what the spec of your...

    Hoverfly Pan Stabilisation / Stabilization

Please excuse me if I am being a biff but I am trying to set up a Hoverfly Gimbal on an AV200 3 axis gimbal with stock servos. I can't seem to get the gimbal to lock on in the yaw axis. I have the use magnetometer tick box selected. What else do I need to do? Many thanks.

    Lipo battery

Depends how you wire them- in series then it would be entered as 6s, in parallel then as 3s. That is in series, the black from the WK goes to the black of battery one, the red from battery one goes to the black of battery two and the red from battery two goes to the red of the WKM. In parallel...

Lipo fire Always charge outside lesson learned.

Okay, this is a bit Heath Robinson but it is probably about as safe as you can get in terms of retaining the lipo going up. Not only does it deal with the fire of the lipo (by using the good old 50cal ammo tin, it also deals with the smoke. Ideally I would have used copper piping rather than...

Align Treker still need a LOT of work

I think this says more about the pilot than the equipment. There are very very few heli pilots I know who do not crash, even if they do so rarely. Seems like common sense to me. Not sure about the rest of the Treker.

Aeronavics / Droidworx New member! - AD4-HL Upgrade for 5D lift possibilities ??? Please advise

The 5D is not a lightweight nor is it light on the pocket. So my suggestion would be to go for at least 6 motors but preferably 8- the Skyjib 8 is perfect for this as I am sure are many other octos. If nothing else this will provide a bit of redundancy so if one motor fails, the machine will...
