Cinestar with S800 Retracts... is it possible?

I opted against the DW gear for my skyjib and went with the S800 gear. Why? Look at Kloners photos and you will see that the legs don't even go horizontal when up, with the S800 legs they go beyond horizontal reducing the likelihood of them getting into your image. With the very simple...

    Multicopters - fundamental design questions

That's probably because you didn't also have velcro stuck to the battery and the airframe as well as the straps. This ensures there is no movement. Ever wonder how the 3D heli pilots manage their ridiculous moves without ejecting batteries? Here's what I mean:

Mixing different motors types on multicopter

Flying a similarly specced motor would probably work but as said it is likely to behave differently to the rest and that can only degrade flight performance so, for the sake of a few quid, I would just pony up for the DJI motor.

    Field Charging?

Field charging is generally done using two methods. One method NOT used is the car battery because you will kill it in a day. Car batteries are simply not designed to deal with the charging role because they have been built for short very sharp bursts of power. Also, fires caused from charging...

    Multicopters - fundamental design questions

Here are my thoughts: 1/ Nacelles have indeed been used on some multis but I think they then become an issue for things like size of the multi (makes it take up much greater volume for transportation). I wonder how much efficiency is gained on these small props v the added weight. Cost might...

    Understanding NAZA low voltage settings

Amen to that Irisaerial. One of the problems with the DJI cutoffs is that whilst it allows for the voltage drop during normal flight, if you quickly accelerate the motors, this can cause the voltage to sag into the LVC despite having the offset set. Whilst the DJI system is better than nothing...

    Training gear for mulitcopter

Shouldn't be a requirement to use training gear as per Single Rotors (SRs). It's all in the setup of Naza. Take your time to follow the instructions (which are written well for a Chinese firm) and then for your first flight stick in Atti or GPS mode. If you make sure you have not lateral...

    A2 Test Flight Problems

Okay, a long shot for sure but worth pointing out anyway. Are you keeping your right thumb or finger on the stick during take off and are you being soft or aggressive with the throttle on take off. The reason I ask is that for inexperienced users, keeping your thumb or finger on the stick during...

    A2 Test Flight Problems

The Z figure wont cause a flip but it wont help either. In order to ascertain the center of gravity, hold the copter by 1 motor and let it dangle. Drop an imaginary plumb line from the motor and where it intersects the X/Y CoG is where the vertical CoG is. Then just measure from that point up to...

    A2 Test Flight Problems

Gains look fine for starters- they won't have caused the flip. Make sure you get the IMU and GPS figures for their mounting correct. I don't think this will have caused the flip but it won't help Have you balanced your props? Vibration could easily cause a flip.

    A2 Test Flight Problems

Your props look as though they are the wrong way round. Looking at your photo the boom at the front right of the photo is the front prop, judging by how your GPS is pointed. Prop number 1 should be spinning anti-clockwise- or at least is should be in the WKM and I am guessing the A2 is the same...

That's it Bart or at least that is all I needed to get it going with my Phantom 1.

    Battery basics

Couldn't agree more. The optimum mix I feel is use the timer to get you into the 80% ish zone and the alarm as your final warning so to speak. I agree with this too, to a point. It depends on why you are flying to a certain extent. For fun and FPV this is certainly the cast but for AP I find...

    TX RX compatability?

Futaba v Spektrum is kind of like Mac v PC in my opinion. It can be a very polarizing argument. :tennis:
