    Momentary Power Surge HC1100

I prefer the split type of plugs shown above to the "captive cage" types shown earlier. If you think about it the captive cage type have two contact points to fail, where the split type only have one.

    GPS mast length?

The baros are also sensitive to light, so dark foam if you have it. Good idea with the tape :)

    Maintenance of motors?

Bearings should be replaced every 100 hours anyway. So if its a few hours early it can't hurt.

    Maintenance of motors?

Bearing replacement isn't that hard, or too expensive. If it helps you sleep at night it might be a good investment ;)

Mengqin 570mm Carbon Umbrella Hex Frame??

Exactly what I was thinking. The price is that of a very cheap set of landing gear.. The quality of the whole unit can't be there.

    Folding props on X8

I'll add potential vibration to the list.

    GoPro drone?

Agreed! Why do we need another drone manufacturer. I think the market is at full saturation already. A classic "cutthroat" situation with a race to the bottom price wise. Margins will be non existent. BUT... DJI could use some proper competition and gopro could give it to them.

    off topic, Studio Video Cameras

My bad for sure. I'm not familiar with Panasonic so I'd done a quick google search and must have come up with the newer model or something (it hasn't been released yet). Can't wait to check out the new show!

    A new drone design

Putting the camera directly in the propwash looks like a good idea.... Not... lol

The Sony RX100 mk4 might make a nice b cam. It could also do double duty as an aerial. ;) Not sure about the steaming aspect tho, you'll need to confirm that. Edit: the HVX200 is going to be $5k gulp

    Momentary Power Surge HC1100

Yes indeed please keep posting about this John. Once you figure it out it may help others in the future. (It could be me someday lol)

    Momentary Power Surge HC1100

I posted above without watching the video. Upon watching it I think I wouldn't rule out a binding motor either. It sounds suspiciously like a bearing seizing too.. Tough one.. I'd maybe swap out each motor one at a time with your known good one and test that too

I think you guys are on the right track. It sounds like intermittent connection on the battery side of the PDB to me as well. Or possibly the PDB itself

    Sign Of The Times..

Oh yes, that would make sense. It's a Philip Bloom photo (forgot to give him credit too). He's on the road shooting for CNN's Wonder List series, and they made stops at Hoover and Colorado River ... My bad .. My geography is the worst! Lol

    AVOID Hobby King!

Well as someone who has been using the Ardu system for several years over many craft, both on my own and for customers, I can say I steer clear of 3DR like the plague. The units from RC Timer have a much higher quality control at 40% lower prices. 3DR "develop" (IE Revise) the hardware but...

    AVOID Hobby King!

We should note that 3DR uses Open Source technology for their Flight Controllers. Both the hardware and software are Open Source. There can be no "clones of 3DR" as anyone who wants to can download the schematics from Git Hub and manufacture the boards and install the open source firmware on the...

    Pixhawk flight modes

This can depend on which GPS antenna you have as well. The quality varies considerably. I haven't been keeping up with that, but I am aware that there are a few GLONASS ones available now that are very accurate. GPS reception varies considerably as well depending on location, time of day...
