New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

Ok... Good thing it's Friday because I'm ready for beer! I started removing the motors to install a set of TBS 900's and as I was doing so I tested continuity again and guess what... Nothing. Figured maybe I did have a screw touching that I couldn't see so I reinstalled the motors this time...

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

I will do that but first... After a 30 min call to Castle today (in which they say it is impossible to have anything to do with the esc's) getting nowhere I grabbed my multi meter as was recommended. For starters, they way the motors are laced out it is virtually impossible for the screws to...

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

I'll try a meter because I'm out of ideas but I doubt that's it. These are essentially the SMS motors as the TBS 900's on DJI arms with supplied screws... The screws are barely longer than the motor mount us thick. I've checked visually but I'll pull out the meter

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

Went back and double checked for vibration at all rpm's and nothing jumped out at me. Even compared it to another Disco with the TBS stuff and no noticeable difference. No, there are no noises and the screws seem to be well clear of windings. I've got a call into Castle to see if they have...

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

Just did a few tests and nothing seems unusual. If I really try had to feel something, arm #2 may possibly have a a slight amount more that others but it would really be stretching it... So much so I'm not sure I'm not grasping at something that isn't there. Here are a few pics from the...

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

I'll have to hook it up and see. According to castle they are set up and ready to use out of box other that setting endpoints. They tell me these are nothing more that the Talon 35's that are pre programmed for MR use and missing bec's on 3 of the 4. I installed the Talons on a quad a while...

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

DJI arms but that is likely to change once the 400kv motors are back in stock.

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

Just curious, if a motor (props are well balanced) is out of balance and causing a vibration wouldn't it effect more than just yaw? Roll arms pitch work great

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

No vibrations, even downloaded a seismometer for my iPhone (saw someone else did that) and everything seems nice and smooth

New motors and esc's causing yaw issues... Help!

I'm busy rebuilding a customers Discovery Pro and they decided to try new motors and esc's because the TBS 900kv's are out of stock. We settled on Lumier 900kv motors and the Castle 35amp quad pack. Those are the only parts replaced. We have build a ton of Discos with the exact same gains and...

Can manual mode be disabled but made available for compass calibration?

I thought you had to cycle between GPS/atti/man a few ties to get into calibration mode. I had changed the setting for the 3rd position (far right) in the assistant to Atti once so there were 2 atti modes (so it couldn't go into manual accidentally) and I couldn't get in calibration mode... Now...

Can manual mode be disabled but made available for compass calibration?

it does, and I thought of that. I'm just trying to make as simple as possible because I'm also working with some people on another project who have no or almost no hobby/flying experience and I want to get the TX as simple to use as possible. They woud never figure our changing travel adjust...

Can manual mode be disabled but made available for compass calibration?

Without getting into a long story, I'm trying to figure out if there (as the title says) is a way to disable manual mode but have it available for compass calibration. I've got a couple newer people I'm teaching to fly but do not want them accidentally bumping into manual mode. Originally I...

Naza v2 failsafe did not RTH... Any ideas?

Yes, it was setup and bound properly with the preprogrammed failsafe.

Naza v2 failsafe did not RTH... Any ideas?

Well, a friend had my Disco Pro with Naza v2/GPS out today and when he took off in GPS mode it had a nice smooth takeoff where it hovered at about 8 feet. Then without warning it jumped up to about 15 feet and he had no control at all. It apparently drifted around a bit but mostly stayed right...
