Whats the best FPV set up?

I think the 433Mhz is reserved for EU and 915Mhz for US, but I'm not sure why 433Mhz wouldn't be ok in the US because we use it all the time. It might be that just 915Mhz is not for use in the EU. Personally, I'd like to go with the 433mhz as it should carry a bit further than 915 - and yes...

Whats the best FPV set up?

...and actually, I'm wrong here... The Naza-M V2 does work with the Ground Station software by DJI... I'm so sorry I told you wrong. Check these out: http://www.dji.com/products/ground-stations For a beginner, I guess DJI's GS would be ok - I've not used it with my Naza controller, so this...

Whats the best FPV set up?

OSD stands for On Screen Display and has nothing really to do with Waypoints - where DJI is concerned. There are other OSD modules which come with a GPS and Compass and allow for configuration to fly to waypoints and return to home. However, those other OSD modules do not work with DJI's...

Whats the best FPV set up?

Well that looks great. If you're going to use a video switcher then that'll definitely allow you to see both views when necessary. I have a couple of those video switches, but I've not used them on any of my multirotors yet. Most of those LED strips run on 14.8 volts - they say 12, but...

Whats the best FPV set up?

Well, for FPV, I don't use a gimbal. For aerial photography I use a gimbal. So on my setups, I have my FPV camera mounted directly to the multirotor and my gimbal operator (girlfriend) has a separate controller which she uses to control the camera. This way I can focus on flying and she can...

Whats the best FPV set up?

I have two Flysight 7" monitors. I don't have much experience with other monitors, but I do like the Flysight for several reasons. For one, they have diversity built-in, for what that's worth. With my relaying ground station, diversity doesn't add a lot of benefit. However, they have HDMI...

Whats the best FPV set up?

You can configure your DragonLink receiver any way you like. It comes with channel 7 set to ppm by default, and channel 8 rssi. However, when you download the configuration utility from DragonLink's website, you can change every port to whatever you want. As for whether to use PPM or sbus...

Whats the best FPV set up?

The easiest thing to do between your dragonlink and naza is just to set the dragonlink receiver to use sbus (assign it to pins for channel 8 or 7, whichever you prefer) and plug in a single cable from the receiver to the X2 port on your Naza. Oh, and DJI OSD (both the mini and standard) do not...

Whats the best FPV set up?

@david The 5V/12V step-down voltage regulator, I'm going to have to say that in my opinion, it's not so great. I've been fighting some issues with my video that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Turns out, I swapped out this...

Whats the best FPV set up?

...and I fly all of my 250 quads with 5.8Ghz, and I'm lucky if I can get a decent image 500 meters away. This is while flying around the park with small trees - currently, there are no leaves, but once the leaves are out, I'll have to be more careful. I think results are mixed. I have several...

Whats the best FPV set up?

I have done both, actually - I have mounted my GPS on top and vtx below - also mounted them both on top, but just several inches away from one another, and things have worked fine for me. The "spacing" of your antennas is very important. Keep your receiver as far away from your transmitters as...

Whats the best FPV set up?

2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz work ok. If you have a lot of Wifi around, it'll kill the distance of 2.4Ghz, big time. 5.8Ghz does NOT go through trees, especially if you want to fly out to a kilometer. As far as I know, my 1.2Ghz systems have not interfered with my GPS, Naza v2 or otherwise.

Whats the best FPV set up?

For a first time, David, you really could get away with buying: http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11_30_38&products_id=1017 as your transmitter. This is only 300mw, but I've gone out to a mile with 200mw and still could have gone a lot more. With a "good"...
