Aeronavics / Droidworx Compatible controller for the SKYJIB-X4 or SKYJIB-X4 Ti-QR

Only the A3 Pro has the redundancy. If I'm not mistaken the A3 is around $1500 and then the upgrade to the Pro is another $1500. So you are looking at a $3k flight controller. The Pixhawk has had redundancy for fixed wing for some time now and I think it's about to be enabled for Arducopter as...

    PHANTOM 4 vs. INSPIRE 1

That's pretty impressive alright. But it's hard to tell just off a Vimeo video given all the compression they do etc. Some of the highlights look a bit blown out to me. I really think the X5 and X5R cameras are going to be very hard to beat given the lenses are far better. As you have mentioned...

Radio selection for AP, single operator use

Thanks for that. I've spent a lot of time training myself up for single op use but have been wondering what it would take to have the option to have a second operator using my Taranis. Sounds like the perfect solution to me.

I think I finally figured it out

Did you calibrate the range of your ESCs?

Arming when indoors for testing only ?

That sounds odd. I'm pretty sure if you disable the GPS check it will arm. However, if all you want to do is test motors then the 'Motor Test' option in the setup section is the way to go (assuming you are using Mission Planner).

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

I assume you are planning on working commercially. That will require a 333 exemption for your company and the pilot of the UAV is required to have a pilots license. Yes, it's crazy but that's the current situation in the US. Hopefully, it will change soon and for the time being it appears to me...

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

I would say conservatively it will take you a year to learn to build and fly a full size DSLR. Don't forget that to do this legally in the US you will also have to have a pilot's license. I don't know how long that takes but I'm sure it's not quick. Hopefully, things will become more sensible...

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

Last time I was in Maui there was a guy there doing quite a bit of beautiful aerial photography. Maui Drone or something like that. I wrote to him and he seemed nice enough. As a past pro commercial photographer (a Brookie) who is now in to UAV photography quite deep I'll save you a lot of...

    Opto Isolated ESCs + Pixhawk

I know I should but I'm using a good BEC so I doubt the voltage will go high enough to cause any issues. For those interested, here's the info about using a Zener on the output rail. I've been the whole route of considering kill switches, parachutes etc. It just adds complexity and typically...

XAircraft Using SuperX following a mayor crash?

Check the logs in the SuperX to see if they reveal anything. I haven't heard of the SuperX flipping out like other FCs can. It's pretty solid in my experience.

    Opto Isolated ESCs + Pixhawk

Yes, you need a BEC. Make sure it's a good quality one like Castle Creations. I use Pixhawk on multirotors and planes. On both I have a 5V BEC on the output rail because even with a normal ESC that supplies 5V to the rail, with planes it may not be enough to run all the servos. With a multi...

    Any advantage to switching lens's?

I've used both and I prefer the 16mm pancake lens because it's smaller and lighter. It doesn't have fisheye. The zoom does have OSS which the pancake doesn't but I haven't noticed any difference. Some say that OSS actually works against you with the type of vibration we deal with on copters. I...

What could possible go wrong, eh? :-)

Large commercial machine with LIDAR with WP's - which FC?

I totally understand your hesitation to use a Pixhawk. However, as far as I know it uses the same exact sensors/chips that any consumer level flight controller does. And mobile phones for that matter. It was the mass market for mobile phones that made the components so cheap in the first place...
