The best power module available for Pixhawk/PX4/etc. is the MAUCH. It uses hall effect to sense current and there is a 200A variant for high-current systems. It is mentioned on the Ardupilot wiki as well. And the price is right. There's no reason to use anything else.
The only downside is you...
How is the 'real world' range for you? I had read early on about it supporting APM telemetry but I didn't know it already did. But you can't pipe the telemetry stream to APM/Mission Planner, right?
EDIT: I will check the thread
I have not had much luck using autotune (APM / Pixhawk) on heavy lifters but that has a lot more to do with my extremely limited time. Generally, when the conditions are right I have a short time for some quick adjustments or a test and I have to go onto the next thing.
Thanks to @Mactadpole I...
Cool, Shawn - I had been planning on using those for ours as well and then it fell off the radar as they say... I will grab a couple too and report back!
Hi @Ancistrus01 nothing on a HexaCrafter frame is weak. They are precisely constructed and extremely strong, motor mounts and all. You will not be disappointed if you go that route.
Also according to T-Motor spec U7 is cool with 17-18" prop.
Hi guys,
We need to spec a decent monitor for our research projects. I have an RX-LCD5802 which works great for my purposes, but for this I'd like something with HDMI in as well.
I know a lot of you use Black Pearl monitors, RMRC has a bunch as well as GetFPV. I'm looking for something in the...
We are seeking a pilot experienced in flying and tuning heavy lifters to contract with us and to be a local liaison for an important long-term client in the LA area.
Extra plus if you have a full-scale license per FAA 333 guidance.
Please write me privately for details or if you have someone...
@Motopreserve @SleepyC @Bartman was the iFlight gimbal you handled this exact one designed for BMCC and running on 6S, or was it maybe one of the other iFlight models (there are a bunch of them, some definitely do look 'cheap')? From what I've heard the motors are decent.
Thanks again guys!
We are building a custom solution which has already been designed. What we're looking for is a decent commercial off the shelf gimbal to allow for prototyping to start now as opposed to waiting for the custom stabilizer to be ready.
Thanks for the feedback, guys. Any others you would recommend?
Also, we had been looking at using the iPower GBM8017-120T SC motors in the custom design. Would you say it is worthy, or would something else be better at a similar price point?
@violetwolf thanks for the suggestion; I wrote you...
Hi guys,
For something a bit different from the usual... We are prototyping an aerial sensor platform for a package that is approximately 2kg. The "real" custom stabilizer in development will most likely use a SimpleBGC controller and 6S, so I'm looking for a hacking/prototyping-friendly gimbal...
