Just got a DJI Flame 550 and have it assembled but can't get the Naza assistant to work. I tried to update the assistang and the firmware and still no luck. Followed the YouTube videos on setting it up and still no luck. Can anyone help. I'M LOST and not making any progress.

OK, I have a Futaba T7 transmitter and thought I installed the firmware, drivers and assistant. The assistant works on my PC but won't take the settings, such as the right configuration of copter etc. I can't get the calibrate the receiver, moving the sticks has no response from the copter to the PC. ARGHHH.

Avoid the Youtube videos for now as they can mislead if you haven't followed the DJI manual as closely as possible first.
Connect USB cable between PC and Naza controller before applying power to MR.
Install correct driver
Update Naza firmware
Start Naza Assistant configuration of NAZA parameters only.
Don't proceed beyond this point until all above steps are successfuly completed.

2) Configure your RC transmitter. Then proceed with the 2nd part of NAZA Assistant configuration which enables colloborative efforts between RC system and NAZA controller.

Thanks. Did as you suggested and still no results. I deleted all the downloads from my PC and reloaded the "right ones". Tried it again and still no communications between PC and NAZA. ARGH!
Im looking for someone in the Temecula CA area that can help me with this. This is almost enough to make me go back to fixed wing. Ouch.

Yikes. I've deleted everything and reloaded the assistant and the driver. When I reload the assistant, I can't seem to get the firmware. If I click on "about" it wants the new "S/N" number which I don't have and cant find. If I click on about in the assistant software, I have a a software version number but nothing in the "loader, firmware or hardware id". I know I missed something but can't figure it out. It's interesting that I'm having such a difficult time as I'm usually pretty good at PC uploads and downloads. I've loaded firmware before but this is really getting silly. I'm to bull headed to quit so I have to keep going.

If you have an IDEA on what I'm doing wrong, PLEASE HELP. I really want to fly this thing and create a video. Got the GoPro camera and everything else. I'm anxious to fly this thing. Thanks for your input

This is the knid of situation that DJI want's all customers to avoid, hence their intended strong dealer support. Find your dealer and discuss. And if that becomes an issue you can escalate it to: us.support@dji-innovations.com

You don't want to load a new serial number......Stick with the one that appears at the lower right of the screen and do an export and printout of it before something worse happens. You need to keep that info.
You can load new firmware without changing the serial number. That change up is for other purposes.

Run Windows Device Manager and look for a yellow caution sign with exclamation mark inside. If there is one, it is a PC related issue that should be easy to fix. If all else fails, try installing NAZA assistant on another computer. That should be successful and will put your mind at ease and help your troubleshooting.

Thanks, I can't fine a serial number in the lower left had corner of the PC screen. Instead it says "unknown".

Remote support can be difficult w/o seeing the entire setup so I am just guessing here...... In any case you also need to ensure your Naza controller has to be powered up from your flight battery(ies).... fully charged and powered from your PMU ofcourse.

Hi, Can' thank you enough. I called HeliDirect and they helped me with this issue. Turns out I couldn't load the driver because my PC rejected it even though it looked like it loaded. It appears that I'm on my way to making this thing work. Thanks again. Don't be surprised if you hear from me again if I run into more trouble.

Glad I could help you out....... as former president Bill Clinton used to say....."I feel your pain"!
Fun quickly turns to anguish when one gets lost in troubleshooting with little or no support. DJI dealers do a great job for the most part.

Hi All, Well I got the assistant to recognize the serial number and I rearranged the connections to my receiver so I have access to the three position switch. I've check the soldered connections to the ESCs and recharged the flight battery. I went through the assistant software and reset all the options, caliberated the sticks and switches. But here's the problem now, I can't set the throttle to work. My receiver is working and the "VU" is working and has a slow flashing green light. I tried to arm the system by moving two of the sticks in the direction indicated and still zippo. I guess my next move os to locate a dealer who is physically close to me and enlist their assistance. I got this thing "on-line" and when I called them they provided some help and got me past some issues and allowed the NAZA to take the firmware. I know you can't diagnose the problems without seeing the copter, but does anyone have any ideas. The nearest dealer is about 1.5 hours away and that's without traffic and that doesn't happen in So. CA. Any help is greatly received.

Hi again All,
OK, from my last post, we've been gone for several months and I didn't work on the copter. I tried to "fly" it today and now I get a green and red flashing on the led from the NAZA. I reclalbrated the GPS and tried all the steps but still get the red and green LED. Is it possible that my GPS is kaput? I retried the calibration but when I connect the battery, it still flashes red and green. Perhaps I haven't used the new "take off" throttle but so far I really don't like it. Can I go back to the old software and increase the throttle myself? I sure wish there was someone nearby that could help figure this thing out besides the hobby store. Thanks for any help you may have.
