I think, when you go back in to the Assistant, plug in your Copter, hit the read button and see if it is the same. You could have a bad Naza.... can you let us know what outputs on the Naza are working? Just curious if it is M1 - M4. Sleep well, maybe a clearer head in the morning will help. :)

Just for your information, Heli mode will introduce Mixes into your channels, some for cyclic on swash-plates with throttle, and other items. Keep it simple and stay in Aircraft mode.
All sorted now thanks for all the help reconnected the computer and set it as a hex and made sure it wrote to the unit came out of the program went back and it works fine and in heli mode on the dx18 !!!!
now just the gps to setup

I have my DX7s in heli mode and it works just fine. Why would this not work?

Mainly because the Naza software tells you to.... as seen here.

Also, I am pretty sure, while in Heli Mode, weird mixes can be set up for collective mixes and so forth. It probably don't matter, but I go by what I see, hear and read. Every setup video I have seen, and the references in the DJI information all tell you to use Airplane or Acrobatic mode.

I am sure there is a better reason than the one I mentioned, I am trying to research into it a little more.

Pay attention to Magnetic north settings on the GPS or it will drift, there are some recent topics that will help you calibrate the compass and set up the GPS correctly in the forum. I can't be much help with the GPS part, I do not have it myself as of yet.

Yeah I did see this in the documentation. What is weird is that I actually had trouble calibrating in acro mode and it worked fine in heli so I just stuck with it. I might give it another go and see what I was doing wrong.

Make sure all your trims are zero'ed out on your TX before trying to set it up in the assistant. I kept finding one of my controls was slightly to the right, I reset my trim and tried again while I was in the program, I finally had to exit the assistant, reset and go back in. Then I was able to calibrate correctly, I guess there is some correct format of doing this, I have not seen it in the documentation, as yet anyway.

Check your sub-trims and everything, if your not sure. Maybe just set up a new model, reset to defaults before going in to the assistant to calibrate.
