Some asked for this so a fast info how you can make your own cheap lens protection for the Gopro 3
What you need:
1. the case of the Go Pro, only the plastic lens protection thats on it.

2. Thin Velcro long
3. Wooden screws 1.4 1.6 M, long 16 or 18mm all works. Check it before what works best for you and consider the material you might be using.
4. Two parts either make them yourself with a jig saw, or hobby shop with a cnc or laser cutter.

Of coarse you could make it out of one piece if you have access to a cnc machine. The reason for the two parts if you can only cut on the x and y axis is to have space for the velcro to actually hold the lens protection.

If the screws are too long cut them and sand the rest off. I did a quick job not even aligned perfectly but it works !
