Good battery combo

Time has come to order batteries and wanted to know what people are running / finding are working well etc.

This will be for S800 & Zemuse

We have been recommended the MaxAmps 11000mah - for which we would need a min of two (1 running 1 charging) - though they are not cheap.

Ideally we want to get 15+mins flight time per battery(s).

Out set up weight at present is 4.6kg (without batteries), we need to keep under 7kg for legal reasons so at a squeeze we could run 2 batteries but a; its pushing our MTOM and b; its pushing DJI's recommended MTOM.

It would be good to know what others on the same set up are using and what flight times they are getting?

thanks

MaxAmps 11000 seems to be the optimum in terms of mah/weight. As you note, they are expensive. Nevertheless, you won't get 15+ minutes safely with a Zenmuse. More like ten to twelve minutes fully loaded. The HobbyKing Turnigy Nanotech 8000s are 1105 grams and only $108. You could strap two of those boys underneath and just be under 7kg with your setup. I don't think you'll get to 15 minutes flight time though as we only get about 8 minutes with a single Turnigy 8.0.

I would personally stay away, I have maxamps 11000 battery and get about 12 minutes, what bothers me is how misleading maxamps are, i was reading the battery is actually 5c not 40c as its says (true 40c). It can handle the s800 but just, it's very expensive and frankly I feel maxamps are very misleading by advertise 40c which is max burst and 5c constant.(which they don't mention)
I think digitech in the netherlands was trying to unload a bunch cheap, if your still interested (as they do still work), you can check with him

I kinda like the idea of running two batteries together rather than relying one obe (help against battery loss etc?) seems turnigy is a good option.

Would like to here what others are running.... Also what chargers are good on the field that will charge em

Hmm seems like running 2 of these will put me over the S800's 15000mah limit.... so would be no good. :(

I believe the specs for mah were only intended for guidance to indicate you need a high capacity battery. When the S800 was released DJI was planning to offer a monster 15000 LiPo, but that never came to pass. Today I believe the MaxAmps 11000 is the biggest 6S you can get. However, the 15000 in the DJI spec isn't intended to be a limit and you'd be fine running two 8000 6S in parallel as long as you are not overweight (which it looks like you would not be based on your thread). Mah is simply the battery capacity. As long as you are running the correct voltage (6S) you should get as much capacity as you can afford. You won't double your flight time, but you should get significantly more if you pair the batteries. Just be damn sure you put them in parallel!

Wow. $399 each for the 11000
Max amps. But you do get a weight ratio of 1amp per 113 grams...

Against 138 grams a amp for the nano teck 8000

I use zippys 5800s these work out at 147 gram per amp but there dead cheap

I'm looking for a second set I'm using 4 may be the 8000s me. Do the balance ok on a normal charge?

Thanks guys, decided to go with 2x5000mah as per the advise from quadcopters. They say its good for 12ish mins flight when fully loaded. Plus they are cheap in comparison meaning we can have several sets on standby.

Yes, the Maxamps are expensive but we fly them because they do give the most flight time per pound and we are able to bill our clients to recover the capital cost. Even so, we keep a bunch of the Turnigy 8000s because they are cheap and they do charge up and balance well. I think we have six of them and have never had a problem.
