S800 v Cinestar 8?

What will the S800 do for me that the Cinestar at almost twice the price won't do?

Does the S800 new gimbal mount rotate out of the way like the Cinestar gimbal does?

What about low battery return and land features?

Take a good physically look at both, Dji's gimbal are proper commerically designed stuff with moulded parts and rotary encoder for positioning, the cinestar ones look like some back yard invention.

Really?, backyard invention?. I think the cinestar looks like a high end pro gimbal. The Cinestar gimbal was designed by one of the most experienced and respected AP video guys around. I also really like the S800, its a very nice looking gimbal. Both seem like high quality products to me.

I have one set with me now, any good hobbists can easily replicate a cinestar gimbal, really not that difficult at all, but there is no way any individual can replicate the DJI ones, unless its a corporation or company..

Back yard invertion, LOL! I guess you don't own one. Cinestar gimbal is at the moment best MR gimbal available for professional aerial shooting if you need to lift anything bigger than NEX or GH2. It's very well designed gimbal allowing you to use cameras from go pro to EPIC. CineStar frame is designed to professionals who want to use highest quality parts in build and decide what controller, motors, esc:s like to use. I've had lot of problems with plastic flexible arms of F550 and don't want that same behavior from bigger frame i use for shooting video. CS does not bend and twist and allows you to lift what ever you need with setup what ever you like to without worries.

I just told you i had one with me, considering to sell off and buy DJI's.
Its simply constructed by using afew carbon rods and many plastic U clamps...I didn't say it won't work well, just that the it look like its make by some back yard inventors.

I suggest that you stop the ball so no feelings get hurt cause u are both on different continents. Zenmouse and Cinestar are not same league so u cant compare them.

At the moment, with the Zenmuse Gimbal, you have a limited angle of uninterrupted view due to the fixed structure of the landing gear. If you need more movement you have to turn the whole bird in the air. Zenmuse works only together with a DJI FlightControl.
At the moment, Zenmuse only works with Panasonic GH2 or Sony NEX5/NEX7 cameras. This and the construction of the landing gear might change in future...

Cinestar 2- or 3-Axis Gimbal has a 360° uninterrupted view due to the construction of the landing gear. Cinestar is usable with a wide variety of cameras, free choice of FlightControl/Gimbal Stabilization.

Both are very good products. The question is not: What is better...the question is: WHAT DO YOU WANT...

Chris nailed it right there. I'd also add that the construction of the Cinestar gimbal allows for a lot of adjustment.

Since you can mod and attach the Zen15 onto many frames I find the soft plastic S800 has no advantages over any stiff carbon fiber frame.

I just wonder when we see the first Zenmuse mounted on a Cinestar 8....nevermind if it really makes sense or not.
