Blue and Green Light Issue on my WKM

I had my laptop in the field today and used my WKM Assistant software to make a few changes in settings. When I powered up I noticed that my LED blinks BLUE instead of PURPLE in GPS mode and GREEN instead of YELLOW in ATT mode. I've tried reloading and power cycling but nothing I do makes the lights go normal. I also re-uploaded the Firmware and recycled the power -- all with no change.

In Assistant I can see receiver is recognizing the transmitter commands but I'm sure not going to take off with this thing until I get the LED back to normal. I know a BLUE light ordinarily means the transmitter's signal has been lost so I'm very wary of any BLUE flashes....

Any help?

Could it be that something got mixed up with your sever travel for the flight mode switch ?

You are in failsafe instead of a flight modus like GPS or attitude mode ? Did you check ?

I think i have had this a few times. Normally I just unplug the battery and start over and everything is fine. The one time I actually did something wrong was when I had my Tx binded to another heli.

Thanks for the responses. Boris, I've checked and the commands are being received accurately. Assistant shows it is in GPS mode and ATT mode when I move the switch appropriately and when I turn the transmitter off it does go into Fail Safe as it is supposed to. So, it is something screwy in the WKM.

IrisAerial, my friend, I appreciate that note. It's good to know it has happened to someone else and it resolved. I've tried disconnecting and starting over with no fix, so far. I'll try unplugging the servos and stuff and see if I can get some sense knocked into its head.

Just use extra caution, as our friend BorisS can vouch for, when tinkering with the Wookong (as for any FC, for that matter) and remember the cardinal rule...remove the props when testing on the bench! I'm so sorry to see that you got nipped by the copter, BorisS! Thankfully the battery came undone to kill it before things got really much worse! This event really knocked some sense back into me, as we share similar volume of experience with these machines, and sometimes I do allow my guard to fall and become too comfortable around these flying lawn mowers. I'm just sorry it took you getting hurt to make me remember how real of a threat these can be when things go wrong. I might amend my building attire to include wearing a hockey mask or something similar. Thank gd also that you did not have your face/eyes in the path of destruction. It sucks, I know, but it could've been worse and I'm very glad that you are getting better and nothing permanent.

Sincerely,
Jonathan

I received a prompt response from DJI advising me that it sounds as though the red LED element may be faulty and, thus, the colors displayed would be off as I described. They are shipping out a new LED to my local dealer so I'm pleased. I hadn't even considered it might just be a faulty LED unit. I'll pull one from another WKM and verify that is the problem.

So far my S800s are flying well with only one incident in which while airborne the blue light came on indicating it had lost contact with the radio (Spektrum DX8). The bird went into Fail Safe mode and did attempt to return home. Unfortunately, it went into a toilet-bowl swoop and came in pretty hard on an oblique landing. Luckily, it only cracked a landing skid, which I was able to patch up. I've flown it several times since with no repeat of the problem. Nevertheless, I've got a Dragon Link ordered and I will be switching to a Futaba 9C and using the DL because I don't trust the DX8 enough at this point.
