just for some perspetive regarding large motors, i had an original Mikrokopter Okto II with the 110W Roxxy motors. Those eight little motors carried nearly the same load I"m now carrying with my eight Avrotos/TIgers. I'm considering powering down to something in the 200w range for my next-gen craft. a 350 w motor is overkill for an 8 to 12 pound craft if you ask me.
Bartman, forgive me, I am still in the steep learning curve part of this addiction. Meaning, I have lots to learn. I want to make sure I follow your logic. If you have a motor that is "overkill" it will usually weigh more? Hence you would be going for longer flight times by downsizing or decreasing the weight. I was sort of under the assumption that if you had a powerful motor and it barely had to work to get the job done, your flight times would be increased. Sorry if that is silly question - just curious.
