You can use either on any of the multi rotors from what I know. they ask you to use plane mode so you dont accidentally activate collective parameters. It also takes standard throttle, rudder, aileron, elevator controls so it makes more sense to use plane mode. But on some heli radios, sometimes you have access to more control in heli mode.

Futaba's radios come with both heli and airplane modes, which can be switched in software. The only difference are two switch locations and the throttle indent. But for multirotors you must change it to airplane mode (or acrobatic mode in their term).

The reason why helicopter mode messes you up is the standard heli mixing they have: throttle->pitch, Throttle->rudder (revo), etc. So if you use it in multirotor, giving it throttle command will result in changes in pitch channel as well (ch6), which will mess up your multirotor.

It certainly has that option. Every computer radio Futaba came out with since the 1980's has option to switch between Airplane, Helicopter, or Gliders. I don't have a 10 ch so I can't tell you for sure, but look under "model type."

Since you are too lazy to read RTFM, I downloaded the manual and read it for you. In the Parameter sub menu there is a "Type". Page 33 in your manual.

That page tell you exactly where to change it. It's the same manual for heli or airplane version, just like all other Futaba radios. You scroll to the place where it says heli and CHANGE IT TO ACROBATIC.

If you are having so much problem with this basic function, maybe this radio is a bit over your head?

steph280, if you can't provide helpful information, perhaps you should not take on the responsibility of answering members questions.

I purchased the Futaba 10C specifically because it was a bit over my head - I wanted to learn to use the advanced functions it offered, as well as some other features. I knew there would be a large learning curve, but I thought I could receive some help, if needed, from the online community.

paktazh, I also was having problems figuring out how to change my new Futaba 10C from Heli mode to Acro. While the instructions in the manual do explain how to change the Mode, the key to reading the instructions are found at the bottom of page 26 of the manual. These are necessary in order to determine what action to take for each step.

  1. Turn on your 10C
  2. When the screen loads, press and hold the Mode button until the >MODEL line is highlighted
  3. Press the Cursor button to go to screen 2/2 - >AUX-CH will be highlighted
  4. Press the Cursor button in the down direction until >PARAMETER is highlighted
  5. Press the Push button
  6. On the Parameter screen, press the cursor button in the down direction until the TYPE line is highlighted
  7. Change the type by turning the Push button clockwise or counter-clockwise
  8. When you have made your selection, press the push button until the "Are you sure?" pops up in the top right
  9. Press the Push button again to save the change
I hope this helps.

Sorry if I sounded like an @ss, but I don't know which part of my post is not useful. I have been trying to help paktazh in several different threads, beginning with "how do you setup failsafe?" which I tried to help and realized he's trying to do things in heli mode. Then I asked him to switch to airplane mode which opened another can of worms. He was asking people to make setup videos to walk him through it, perhaps you could volunteer and help him out?

It's one thing to buy a radio that's "over your head," which afterall is how we learn new things. But when you don't want to RTFM or make efforts to experiment, it will just get more complicated as you progress.

[h=2]mixing switches for fail safe[/h]
I got a problem with mixing just want to make sure that I do not make any mistake first I got WKM with GPS
so in order to mix the second switch with 3 way switch since 3way switch can go to GPS A M but not on the froth one so if i mix the second switch with 3 way switch in order to turn the fail safe Blle in DJI software does the 3 way switch has to be on blue as will as the second switch that set for fail safe in the same time . If some thing happens the GPS bring it home back while it is on fail safe mode too or the GP A an M they do not have to be on blue and only the second switch that set for fail safe has to be in fail safe mode and blue in WKM software
Thanks

You have to adjust the end points and trim for the switch you are using (I use a 3 position switch). Set it for GPS Attitude Failsafe. Follow the instructions in your TX manual to set up failsafe. You can then check when your TX is switched off that the Failsafe display on the setup screen goes from Grey to blue. My switch is set to GPS , Attitude , Failsafe. I only have to use the switch on my TX for failsafe and not turn the TX off.
