I can get some unused top brand motors (Orbit) in the - 5mm with collet for 5mm axis, with M6 screw version - It's my understanding it's better to get them with the custom integrated prop adapter with helicoil nut version. As a newbie to the world of multicopters some advice and good information would be welcome thanks.

I am using the collet type prop adapter on my Turnigy D2830-11s but it does take quite a lot of work on the adapters to get them balanced. I recently ordered some T-Motors and they came with THIS type of prop mount (the one that bolts to the motor), and I have to say that this type is much better.

Both have advantages and disadvantages.

The threads on the fixed prop adapter ones can and will go bad in time. The collet ones are a few grams heavier.

Since you can get the collet ones for half the price, I would go for the collet version.
