Rustys Hexa vs Foxtech Hexa ?

Hey everyone,

I want to upgrade my FJI f550 to something lighter weight. I am really close to buying either one of these but just wanted to see if anyone has experience with either one?

The fox tech one seems really nice as its very light weight, and this will make a difference carrying my Askman Nex 5N mount. Heard nothing but good things about the rusty's frames but I worry that they are heavier and also not folding.

Cheers for the help!

How does the old saying go? Cheap, strong or light weight. You can have 2.

I have the quad version of the fox tech. it's very light, but not not strong at all. It's great for a sport FPV craft, but wouldn't hang a decent camera under it. The landing gear is kind of a joke and I'm sure it would give way on a hard landing leaving your camera exposed to damage.

Rusty all the way, you can change up your config as you needs change, I fly only Rusty frames, excellent value for money!

yeah, I have seen the Rusty's, and they look awesome but are quite heavy. I took the plunge and ordered a fox tech hexa! I will report back if its any good.... Fingers crossed

I've been looking to... good on ya Jamie ;) I look forward to the review.

I have seen some really strong + heavy frames over the years. I have always used the thought that I can fly and land well... so it only needs to be THAT strong... yet many u/c are made for landing heavily and weigh a heap.
I can think of several times with a heavy heli cameraship that I would have been in trouble if I was flying a heavier u/c!

yeah my thoughts exactly Pete. The DJI hex a whilst very nice and durable machine is just SO heavy. I also have a cheap hex a on order too from OMGFLY.com... I don't hold much hope for this but it might be a good hack machine.
