Can Octo with 8 Booms and 4 propellers fly in the sky

Hi All,

I just have a quick question regarding the WKM that would like to seek your opinion.

I have an Octo frame however due to one of my ESC is dead so I could not fly in Octo mode. I have decided that when I still keep the frame of the Octo (including the boom) and mount 4 propellers to 4 Booms to transform the Octo to Quad.

After finish with all the setting (COG; DJI Assistant), I decide to let it fly however when I try to lift it up, it start to shake uncontrolable and I have to land it.

From the above incident, Am I correct to understand that to fly the Quad more stable and safty I have to remove all booms that are not used to mount the propellers ?

logically speaking the booms shouldnt make any difference other than the weight. If 4 motors can lift it then what is the question? You basically want to fly it as a qaud until you get a replacement esc? You will have to reconfigure the FC and software as a quad to do this.

I also thought that at first stage however today when I go out for flying, I have removed all the boom without propeller and it flied very stable.

It must have been the boom that made my Quad shaky ...
