Hello, from Durango CO. Taking the plunge into Mutirotor!

I came across this forum just yesterday after deciding to take the plunge into the world of Multirotor aircraft. I was drawn to this forum by the generous nature displayed by its members. I spent hours here trying to soak up as much as I could. I just hope that I will not wear out my welcome too quickly because I have so many questions and must admit that it is all a bit overwhelming at this point, not to mention humbling. I have been both a fixed wing pilot and a photographer for many years but have zero experience with RC. I have decided to combine my love for both aviation and photography and attempt to build a suitable, stable platform for DSLR and HD video primarily for my real estate work. I have a big pasture to practice in so I hope to hurt only my ego and maybe a slow moving elk as I attempt to gain experience. I have some years of experience in product design (and therefore prototyping) so I am pretty good with my hands but the logistics of pulling together all of the necessary "stuff" to built a suitable craft, program the many parameters and then actually begin to use it in a productive manner is daunting to say the least. I welcome any and all advice from those good souls brave enough to speak up. I am well aware of the old adage "No good deed goes unpunished" so I will keep that in mind along the way and try not to wear out my welcome.

Thanks for having me aboard!

Welcome Pete. Durango is some beautiful country and I'm sure you will have some fantastic shots from the air before you know it. What type of craft are you thinking of building?
