esc/motor clicking

just wonder whether anyone can explain why my motors click intermittently and is it an issue to be concerned about?

initially i though it was cheapo motors, but having swapped in some t-motors, the clicking is still there.

this is happening on my arducopter quad, esc's are turnigy plush 18A

Boris has the same thing, so did I until I swapped my esc's with bigger ones. Not sure what it is though.

Sounds a bit like a timing problem on the ESC?

how do i go about fixing that? is it as simple as playing with the esc programming card settings?

…or is it a case of more money on four 30A hobbywing escs?

programming card is the easiest way or via your RC transmitter. Try a high timing setting.
