Flight stability video

I took the WK-M to the forest today to see what kind of video I got out of it with the new 12" props fitted. I was very impressed.

There was a bit of jello towards the middle/end, but I think that could either be because I didn't balance the props, or the esc's were giving in.

Right at the end of the flight, it lost all power and started wobbling all over the place. I luckily managed to land within seconds. I tried to restart the motors, but only 3 fired up....the esc's were hot enough to roast chestnuts on! My reckoning is that with the smaller props, the motors need to spin faster, causing the esc's to have to work harder. Does that make sense?

They are these 30A jobbies from arducopter. Maybe I need to use 40A esc's, any suggestions for something well priced and good value?

Thanks Sebas, I've heard good things about the Turnigy plush, but delivery time is terrible to the uk!

Dave, have you used those? What are you using on that heavy build of yours (Geoff's)

Iris, alas not. I mistakenly mounted my landing gear the wrong way round and couldn't be bothered to change it. It does look quite impressive though!

Gunter if you go for the Hobbywing Pentiums from Giantcod make sure there all from the same batch as they recently changed the chip from a atmel to silab or vice versa and this caused me a whole day of grief trying to calibrate them to start up at the same time . In the end I discovered it was the internal clock was about a 1/3rd second different between the 2 types which changed between Sept - Oct and i had 2 from Sept and 2 from Oct sent me and believe me it caused me a lot of stress and i had to eventually rip them all out and fit fresh , and then to top it all after that i was getting huge voltage loss somewhere so im again fitting 4 new ones and renewing all the wiring to the escs.

Yes i know. Took mine very long aswell. But if you only order a couple it's faster. Ordered a lot from hk and the smaler the order the faster delivery!

Rc711.com with dhl is uberfast! Got my order in two days! Postnl or tnt down here sometimes takes longer! Both hk and 711 can put in different bills. Handy if you don't have a business to deduct vat...

Good luck

Oh btw the plush is availible sometimes in hk europ(de)

I'm still curious why most people with Hex configurations use the "+" style as to the "y" style. I would think you would get less prop in the picture with the Y. I have a Y and never get any prop, not once.
