rwilabee - put up a posting last week about basic gain setting and as I read through it I started wondering what people are doing on their end. Please chime in, I look forward in hearing about it.

thanks you Jack

From experience, each aircraft is different, even if it looks about the same size and weight. I tried using the same gain settings as another hexa which was very similar in size and weight, but they were way off the mark.

After adjusting them in the air, with a fair amount of wind, my basic gains are now set to 130%. I have the Attitude gains set at 85%, but I might dial these down a bit more, to get smoother video. I have three conditions set up on my transmitter for expo. The "normal" one is set to 45% and dual rate endpoints set at 70%. The second setting is for "moderate winds", and I have these set at 35% expo and D/R at 85%. For "heavy winds" the settings are 25%/100%. I got the recommendation for these D/R values from Ken (RTRyder...), because I'm after the same sort of smooth video that he has already demonstrated. :)

My Basic Pitch and Roll gains are at 228, yaw 100%, Vertical at 120%, Attitude gains are at 209.

I'm running an 850mm HEX with with 12 x 3.8 props.

I still leave my Basic Pitch and Roll gains on X2 for knob adjustment, and adjust them based on flying conditions while I fly.
