Hi I spent last night assembling my motors, extending wires and balancing props.

Heres my 0.684 square meters of propeller disc... My first step in construction.

Looking good so far:)

I`ve just ordered a Rusty frame, sorry a frame from Rusty for a Y6:).Not sure what motors and props or even arm size yet.Is it best to have identical motors and props top and bottom? or should the lower props/motors be slightly smaller size/power?

I think after i got my proptotype flying and then drilled and cut away all the unneeded aluminium to try to make it as light as possible if its still too heavy to bolt my DSLR to it - then I may end up ordering one of rustys frame kits and cm-2 landing gear also.

Got my eye on a UAP1 too, what boom size are you going for? I'm finding my 12mm 450 size booms a bit too flexy. Keep us updated on your build too.

Been looking to replace my rctimers with a small short shaft motor and those AXI's are the only ones I can find. WAY out of my price range though, £70 a pop from Eletricwimgman. I can't see Geoff getting them into my budget of £25 a motor.

Sorry for the thread hijack

i have 8 of those motors. Best motor you can find for the price, and they have prop adapters that are actually straight.. The C clip holding the shaft is easy to remove , so you can remove the shaft quicly and cut it without worrying about metal grinding getting in motor. I use them at 4s and they manage well, i have the 900kv version as top motors with 10x5 , and the 1200kv version on bottom with 9x6 on an X8 machine.

will keep those in mind, they look nice, trying to avoid cutting stuff myself though[/QUOTE

I just use a little Dremel with a cut off blade.. no mither!

@thepellell you are using 4cell with them? They are only rated at 2/3 cell.. how long u used the 4 cell on um?

since august. Never had problems, checked many time with termometer and max i got was 40°C . But i am using them in a X8 config with plenty power, hovering around 40%, so they really don't have to work that hard. Lower motors spinning 9x6 are usually warmer than top motors spinning 10x5
