WK-M s-bus question

I am reading around and getting a little confused with my WK-M, I have an x8 and I am puzzled how I could get all 8motors working while using the self leveling ports in the controller. I know that the WK-M supports s-bus on the inputs, does it support it on the outputs? if so how do you set that up so you could use the self leveling feature.

Hi Jhardway not sure what you are getting at with seld leveling ports, but i guess you mean roll pitch stabilization for the camera gimbal. Yes in combo with a Sbus receiver this is possible with a X8 congfiguration.

M1 ... M6 get the first 6 ESCS/Motors
F1 F2 normally for cam stabilization get the last 7 and 8 ESCs/motors.

T is for your roll servo
R for pitch servo

X1 for Vsen PMU connection
X2 Sbus

Got it

Boris thank you for clearing that up as I have been looking at it and reading, it kinda was coming clear to me, your response just has made where I was thinking good. now that i know, I now may go purchase a futaba sbe-1 to go with my jr receiver, and I should be good.

many thanks Jack

the other positive side to the sbus is that the whole failsafe setup is straight forward. WKM gets no signal and goes to failsafe no playing arround with channel, at least with the combo Graupner MX 22 Robbe Rasst Modul - Futaba Subs receiver.

Hi Boris

I plan to build a droidworx airframe octocopter with pro mount 130.
Have to change TX/RX to use pro mount? right?
I'm considering to buy Futaba T8FG with R6208SB(RX)...Do you think it's ok? :livid:

Hi wanho lim,

That's the one I am using. To be honest I never took a look at the sbus capable product line. There might be some that are smaller and since sbus is of interest that would be of benefit.

Wanho Lim,
You can even use the R6203SB (3-14) with the 8FG and still get 14 channels. However, at this point the DJI only supports 8 channel on the DBUS. but you can you a futaba SBUS hub to program the rest of the channel if you need to, I plan to do that to have a remote shutter control. I havent fully completed my project still buildting the frame but that is my goal and its doable base on my initial test

Thanks for quick reply.
And very interesting at your plan to use sbus.
DJI wooking's comming here soon...I want to share sbus setting...^.^
Also I have completed to build the octo frame. Just waiting for Wooking.

Futaba SBUS

On the SBUS receiver there is 3 traditional channels but dji does not care wether my TX function for ch1 is aileron, elevator or what éver it always considers it as aileron. This makes the 3 traditional channels useless on SBUS receiver?

Am I right or did it totally miss it?

Patrik, What I did with mine is re-arranged the Channel / Function assignments on the transmitter to mimic the expected input of DJI on that channel.

CH Function
1 A
2 E
3 T
4 R
5 X2
6 X3
7 U

Yes that's plain vanilla but where do you hook up CH8? I was thinking that I could use the SBUS rx to trigger camera but I can't figure out where to hook up CH8...

Also the traditional ch slots 1, 2 and 3 are no use.

This is basically what I wanted to do but I cant...
CH Function
1 AUX1
2 AUX2
3 AUX3
4 A
5 E
6 T
7 R
8 X2
9 X3
10 U

ohhh for that one you need a splitter and decoder

_____________----- DJI WK-M
RX ---- Splitter
_____________----- Decoder (SBD -1 or direct to S-BUS servo programmed to that channel)

Edit:
you cant change 1-7 at the moment that's the only channel DJI WK-M is listening to. You can assign the rest on the rest of the channel and use a decoder

Ohh yeah 1-8 is what DJI is listening to. But to answer your question no I am not sure what Ch8 is for probably in future camera trigger or pan control. However, I think its the limitation of the ports that restricts this could be hardware limitation. Not in anyway related/linked to DJI so I cannot really be sure just my opinion.

CH8 would help! but there's no port for it. It could have been A, E or U channel... Since this is the case it makes the SBUS fairly limited.

Have you tried just connecting the trigger/servo directly to the regular CH8 output on your receiver? I think the regular and S.Bus outputs are both on all the time.

I have the 6203SB. But even with 8ch SBUS rx that beats the purpose of SBUS if you can get only the bare minimum functions with SBUS receiver. I am not going to use the SBUS rx due to these limitations with my multirotor. I will use the 6014HS 14 ch rx to get all the functionality I need.

True its more of the limitation of the DJI implementation of the S-Bus Channels but maybe in future they will add one port either A E to be assigned to channel 8. Anyway, if you dont have an OCTO + Gimbal stab then there is really no need for S-Bus. It will make the wiring better tho, unless you add a splitter servo cable and SBD-1 :D
