Mikrokopter Safe testing a power distribution board - tips?

Does anyone have a few tips for safely testing a power distribution board?

I've got a finished hexaXL board sitting on the bench - with 6 BL-CTRLs in place, jumper bridges soldered and the main power cable attached too.
No motors yet though.

I've done a continuity test with a multimeter and there doesn't appear to be any shorts.

Now i could simply plug it into in my FlightCtrl and connect to MKTool with the jumper on the MKusb - is this the safest way to do a first test?

When i built the original Hexa, i just plugged the lot together, flight pack included and assumed it would work- which it did, but that was before i started reading horror stories.

Easiest way is to use a 9V battery. If there's a short, it will not blow the BL Ctrls.

just tried to test the pdb.

mkusb with jumper -> flightctrl -> molex -> pdb

no power being supplied to the pdb.

getting the ic2 error

do i need to power the pdb instead of using the mkusb jumper?

as previously mentioned the continuity/short circuit test with an audible multimeter suggested that everything was as it should be…

droidworx frame arrived today, so itching to get this sorted and the build started.

sorted.

used a maplin desktop power supply dialled to 9v, connected everything up, minus the jumper on MKusb, powered the board, red and green leds, then green all round.

Fired up MKtool - green BLCTRL box.

Obviously the PDB needs power through it directly.

@dave, bought a V3 AD6 from Sandor, from which i'll be building an ADX3.

The only thing required as far as i can tell are 35mm M3 cap heads for the motor mounts and some 20mm stand-offs/spacers - but i've got those.

Does the MK power distribution board have power tracks running all around without a break in them...continuos conductor so to speak?
