I would have thought the authorities are to well aware of the limited capabilities of RC planes and the like to cause damage in an attack such as was planned. What you may see from this is tighter restrictions on imports of illegal equipment from China that make attacks like the planned one easier to implement.
Now as it says in the report, private pilots on a death wish could inflict much more damage and their efforts I would have thought will be more focussed on them.. BUT who knows..

I thought the authorities gave this guy the material to make these flying bombs, surely thats entrapment?
A better use would be to get a 400cc aircraft that will carry a good load, then load it up with Mexican drugs, use GPS to guide the thing across the border...with waypoint nav as well....this plane could fly miles & miles with a load of drugs. Maybe I might have to offer my piuloting skills to the drug cartels
