Hi all,
I have recently built my first multi rotor, a quadcopter. Thing is, I cannot get it to hover in a stationary position, it wanders one way or another. This is making it a little hard for me to learn how to fly the thing. Can anyone give me a few pointers as to F/C set up, and any tips to help me learn how to fly.

This is what I have built.

Turnigy H.A.L. quadcopter frame, 585mm.

Hobby King power dist. board.

Turnigy Plush 25a ESC's

NTM Prop Drive Series 28-30s 900kV / 270w motors

Hobby King KK2.0 Multi-rotor LCD F/C

Turnigy 3300mAh 4S 30C LiPo (also have a Turnigy Nano-Tech 2200mAh 25-50C LiPo)

Slow fly 8x4.5 Props.

Turnigy 9X 9 channel Transmitter with module, and 8 channel receiver (mode 2).

Any help would greatly appreciated. :upset:

Horn20- I have a HAL, but with different components excepting that I have a KK2.0 version 1.6 FCB. With the KK2.0/2.1 FCBs your quad will not hold a stationary hover. From what you have described- the quad wanders randomly in all directions, it appears that your self leveling tune is tuned correctly. If the quad tends to go in one particular direction then you can tune the self leveling adjustment to compensate for that. There are some decent "how to" videos on how to adjust the self leveling available.

Competent flying takes a lot of practice; lots of practice. I am a fairly decent pilot after +1 years of acro quad flying. I have also exhibited the ability to be a spectacular crasher as well. Both abilities require lots of practice.

I hope this helps.
