Hoverfly GPS board led

Hi Guys, a guy I know locally has lent me a GPS board to try out and last night I was messing around with setting it up. I was able to load the latest firmware and it has the sd card in place however I did note that the led didnt light up when the computer USB lead was plugged in. When I mount it on my HFP the GPS led still doesnt light up and in the setup software I cant connect to the GPS tab. I did have the GPS aerial connected.
Should the GPS board led light up when I update the firmware or have it connected via USB to the computer?

Hi Stacky, I haven't had my GPS board connected to the computer for some time but I am sure the LED lights up.

a gps board with nothing else attached will have a purple flashing LED when connected to the computer with USB only. just checked.
