Fieldbus, profibus and Canbus are all variants of the original Modbus time based communication protocol and I believe all are three wire systems.
So technically your hardware handshaking should be identical between all of these, i.e., one signal, one return path plus one common ground.
In spite of this many of the connectors remain four pin (one w/o wire connected at one or both ends).
Software handshaking is a different matter. Bus communication protocols will vary with respect to additional features, e.g., CanBus is an international automotive standard which has carried over to a limited extent into the industrial world, e.g., Motor control centers, switchgear as well as Futaba industrial systems including wireless overhead crane control systems.
Also keep in mind that DJI d.bus and Futaba s.bus and s.bus II are different from CanBus.
Hopefully DJI will wake up and realize they need to make the IMU canbus connection pluggable so that the landing gear can be more easily disconnected from the MR airframe.
(and/or offer a low cost canbus extension cable for those caught with the existing IMU format)
Hi all, can I connect the IMU to any CAN-Bus interfaceavailable? This because I installed the anti vibration kit to my S800 and the IMU cable can not reach the MC and I connected it to the PMU.
Thanks in advance
