Blackmagic Cinema Camera anyone?

Anyone using one or have any experience of the BMCC?

Want one, probably the MFT version. Would have thought it was ideal for AP. Onboard battery and SSD would last long enough for most uses. Raw footage of course.

We are waiting for our Black Magic since 11month.
It should arrive within the next few days.
Some points you have to know.

When shooting RAW recording time is around 30min
on a 256 GB SSD. There is no display of how much
recording time is left. It just says 'disc full'.

You can't change the camera battery. Battery will last
for 90min.

Video out is HD-SDI only. So you will need a converter
HD-SDI to AV. Or use a digital HD Downlink with HD-SDI.

You have to reformat the SSD in your computer. It is not
possible to reformat in the camera. And it is not possible to delete
single files in the camera.

When shooting RAW (12Bit full dynamic range) there is
necessarily a lot of work in post production.
Of course there is no need to shoot in 1080p with 10Bit.

Disadvantages:
No global shutter, still rolling shutter. Framerates only
24p, 25p, 30p. Small sensor.

Regards

I've got my eye on the BMCC very close. it fills a void in all the H.264 cameras. The sensor size is not an issue other than the crazy crop factor. It does chew up space but only in 2.5k. It is heavy though. I think its 4 lbs without lens? 30fps is just fine for aerials if your heli is dialed in. I accidentally set my camera to 24p one time and I had no idea until I tried slowing the footage down. It is weird that they dont have at least a 1080/60p option in prores that would keep the camera from over heating. It says the sensor is capable of 100fps and global shutter but it cant handle the heat so they dont offer that...yet. Having all Canon glass it is a bit hard to make the move as the EF lense seem to have a limited range on some of the zooms. I didnt think about the non av out, that could be a PITA. I have never touched resolve so I am a little hesitant to learn yet another app. but seeing the results is inspiring. No doubt the clarity and DR is wonderful. I think if you were dealing with broadcasters or a need for the lack of H.264 compression it would be a worthy camera for the money. But I dont really need that for what I do as everything is computer based. The main thing I wanted it for was for shots that would have post production like match moving, keying, or any other shot that would do better with clean uncompressed footage.

Also watching BMCC. Crop factor and other minor quibbles is whats kept us off so far... But the dynamic range is ridiculously amazing and at that price point to be able to compete with the RED stuff is pretty amazing.
