OrangeRx Futaba FASST Compatible 8Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver

I have tried to use Orange Futaba 8ch Rx's. Great in my planes but... they do not work with KK, KK2, Openpilot CC or Hoverfly. There is a problem with the pulse shape and all motors on the above controllers stopped for 1/5 second every minute or two in slow and fast modes.

Not worth the risk. It took me weeks to prove it - it comes up in question every month or two on RCG with others having intermittent motor stoppages... so it's not just me!

If you want to have the same reliability and range than the original Futaba receivers, use Frsky receivers. There is two models with very similar "names", depending on what exactly you need:

http://www.frsky-rc.com/ShowProducts.asp?id=129

I have both of them in use for a long time....they work perfectly in any conditions and you won't see any difference to Futaba original receivers. Best stuff you can get and similar priced to the OrangeRx rubbish...

Hi Chris, I read on several blogs that the range of TFR8SB is not that good, I'm interested on it due to RSSI, how fat did yours go?. I have 7C & TFR6 and they work so good in my DJI products.

I was under the impression that the range issue was for a previous model and is not an issue now with the new serial bus version.

What is the symptom of this? I have an orange 8 ch. on one of my HFP X8 and I don't notice anything. Been flying it for a couple years. I use them on the gimbals as well. I run futaba Rx on all of my other models, but they seem to work fine for me.

I have 4 x 8ch Orange RX's. Every one had the same symptom (on 4 different machine, two different Tx's).

My quad had been momentarily loosing power for a split second for no reason at all. When this happens all four motors just quickly turn off then back on in less than a second.
The entire quad drops about two feet and comes right back to flying level afterwards.
It happened on all my controllers.

I don't like to link to other threads but here is someone else similar problem a while ago.
